Tickets is granted these permissions by the invite link. A command that finds one missing replies privately with what it could not do and changes nothing.

Behaviour

Checked against the code 2026-10-07

Deletes the current ticket's channel or thread. An open ticket is closed first: the close message, the log channel post and the rating DM happen as with any close, then the channel goes.

The bot first applies the server's Command Access rules for /ticket delete and checks that Tickets is enabled ("❌ Tickets is not enabled for this server."). The command only works inside a ticket channel or thread ("No ticket found in this channel."). Only staff may delete: Manage Server, the ticket's staff team or a role given access when the ticket opened. Others see "Only staff can delete tickets." On an open ticket the claim rule of a close applies too: when "Staff must claim a ticket before closing it" is on (3 Closing, "Who can close"), staff who did not open the ticket need it claimed first ("You must claim this ticket before closing it. Click the Claim button first.").

The reason option is optional, except on an open ticket whose panel asks for a reason to close (3 Closing): there the bot answers privately "Tickets from this panel need a reason to close. Try again and add one." and does nothing. Up to 500 characters are kept in the ticket's "Activity log", and on an open ticket the reason is also the close reason. The bot answers privately "🗑️ Deleting this ticket channel. The transcript stays on the dashboard." It deletes the channel only once the ticket has a saved transcript, and saves one first when there is none. When the ticket's panel keeps no transcripts, nothing is saved and the answer ends "No transcript is kept for this panel." instead.

When the channel cannot be deleted, it stays and you are told why:

  • a missing permission: "I can't delete this ticket channel because I'm missing <permissions>. The server owner has been told." The bot needs View Channel and Manage Channels (Manage Threads for a thread ticket), plus Read Message History while it still has to save the transcript. The server owner hears about it at most once a day.
  • the transcript could not be saved: "I couldn't save the transcript, so I kept the channel. Please try again in a moment."
  • the ticket was reopened in the meantime: "This ticket is open again, so I kept the channel."

Good to know

  • A closed ticket's welcome message has a 🗑️ Delete button for staff, with the same Command Access rules. It asks first ("Delete this ticket channel for good? The transcript stays on the dashboard.", or "No transcript is kept for this panel." when the panel keeps none) and deletes when you press "🗑️ Delete channel".
  • The ticket's dashboard page has a "Delete channel" button for closed tickets.
  • 3 Closing can delete closed ticket channels by itself, under "After it closes": after a wait (1 to 10080 minutes) or right away. Reopening the ticket before then keeps the channel.
  • The deletion is recorded in the ticket's "Activity log". The log channel posts it too when Ticket deleted is switched on under "What gets logged" on Settings.
  • The transcript stays on the dashboard's History page after the channel is gone.
