Hands the ticket in the current channel to a staff member. The assigned member becomes its claimer.
The bot first applies the server's Command Access rules for /ticket assign and checks that Tickets is enabled ("❌ Tickets is not enabled for this server."). The command only works inside a ticket channel or thread ("No ticket found in this channel."). Only staff may assign: Manage Server, the ticket's staff team, or a role given access when the ticket opened. Others see "Only staff can assign tickets."
Pick the member in the member option. The bot records them as the ticket's claimer, and a ticket that is open or waiting becomes Claimed. It confirms in the channel for everyone: "🙋 Ticket assigned to @member." The assignment is recorded in the ticket's "Activity log" on the dashboard.
Good to know
- The command does not check that the chosen member is staff, and it does not give them access to the channel. Use /ticket add if they cannot see it.
- Because assigning counts as a claim, staff can close the ticket afterwards.
- The welcome message's button still reads Claim after an assignment; only /ticket claim and the button itself swap it to Unclaim.
