How we checked Everything this table says about the other bots comes from each bot's own public pages, not hands-on testing. We compare stable structural facts only, and a row appears only where every bot's own pages settle it. Last verified 2026-10-12.
These are the three most-used Discord bots whose own sites present temporary voice channels as a main feature, ranked by the server counts they publish. All three are built for it: a member joins a channel, the bot makes them a voice room of their own and deletes it once it is empty. Everything this page says about them comes from their own websites and docs.
VoiceMaster
VoiceMaster is the most used of the three. Owners rename their room, set a limit, lock it and permit or reject people from a panel inside the voice channel or with /voice commands, and a member can claim a room once its owner has left. Server admins choose which /voice commands work, and logs of rooms and command use can go to a channel you pick. A personal profile, open after a top.gg vote, carries a member's room settings to every server that runs VoiceMaster. Premium removes the vote requirement and the cap on Join to Create channels, and unlocks commands such as ghost to hide a room, a linked text channel and transfer.
Best if you want a long list of owner commands and a profile that follows members between servers.
TempVoice
TempVoice sets up each Creator Channel on its own in its web dashboard. Owners manage their channel from an interface of buttons, /voice commands or Apps commands: they lock or hide it, trust people in, block them, kick them at once or by a vote and can open a waiting room where they accept or deny requests to join. Admins decide which owner features are open to everyone, to chosen roles or to nobody, and a Temporary Voice Role can mark everyone in a channel. Some commands open for a while after a top.gg vote; Premium removes voting and adds unlimited Creator Channels, custom interfaces and a moderation log.
Best if you want waiting rooms, vote kicks and close control over what owners may do.
Astro
Astro calls itself a bot for temporary voice channels and voice roles. Each generator has its own settings, owners rename, limit, lock and hide their channel from an interface of buttons or with slash commands, and when an owner leaves, ownership passes at random to someone still inside. Voice roles give a member a role while they are in a voice channel and take it away when they leave. Astro Ultimate removes the caps and adds waiting rooms, private text chats, numbered names and customisable interfaces.
Best if you want roles that follow members into voice channels, from the same bot that makes the rooms.
Voice Channels, built into YourBot
Voice Channels is one of YourBot's ten core services, and every feature below is free on the shared bot. Several lobbies run side by side, each with its own room name, people limit, sound quality and category, so a Duo lobby capped at two can sit next to a Squad lobby capped at four. A room can take the name of the game its owner is playing. Every control is both a button on the room's panel and a /voice command: lock, hide, set a limit, rename, permit or reject a member or a role, kick one person or hand the room over. The panel reaches the owner by DM and can also be posted in the room's own chat.
Permits and rejects are remembered for the owner's next rooms, and /voice prefs saves a preferred name and limit. When the owner leaves, the room passes to the first member still inside unless you turn that off, and then anyone inside can claim it. Admins can limit every command and button to roles or channels or give it a cooldown, and the dashboard shows every open room with controls of its own and a history of closed rooms. Voice Channels has no waiting room and gives no role while a member is in a room.
Best if you want every room control free, in the same bot as moderation, tickets and the other services.

Frequently asked questions
Which temp voice bot is the most used?
By the server counts the bots publish, VoiceMaster is the most used bot built for temporary voice channels, then TempVoice. Astro is third among bots whose own sites present voice rooms as a main feature. The counts change every day, so this page gives the order and not the numbers.
Are these voice bots free?
All four have a free plan. VoiceMaster, TempVoice and Astro each keep some features for a top.gg vote or a paid plan, as the table shows. Every Voice Channels feature in YourBot is free on the shared bot; Premium adds your own custom bot and the marketplace.
Does YourBot have waiting rooms for voice rooms?
No. An owner lets people in with permit, and a locked or hidden room keeps everyone else out. TempVoice offers waiting rooms, and Astro does on Ultimate.
Can I move from another voice bot?
Yes. Make a Voice Channels lobby next to the old bot's join channel and let members try it, then remove the old bot's channel. Lobbies, room names and limits are set on the dashboard, and members can save their own name and limit with `/voice prefs`.
