These are the three most-used Discord bots whose own sites present events as a main feature, ranked by the server counts on their top.gg listings, the one bot list that carries all three. Apollo and sesh are close, and Raid-Helper is third. Apollo is built to run events, sesh calls itself a calendar bot and Raid-Helper's homepage lists polls, reaction roles and embeds beside its events. Everything this page says about them comes from their own websites and docs.

Apollo

Apollo is built to run Discord events, with one-click sign-ups in Discord and a dashboard for organizers. You create an event with /event, which asks its questions in a DM, or on the dashboard, where drafts can be saved and finished later. Members sign up with a button under the event post. The free plan has sign-up presets, a cap with an automatic waitlist that promotes people when seats open and a limited number of recurring events, where one date can change without touching the rest. Reminders go to a thread on the event or to its channel, and members can opt out of them. Every event can get its own thread, and the dashboard keeps the whole schedule and an archive of past events. Premium adds custom sign-up options, more reminders per event, unlimited recurring events, roles for attendees, automatic Google Calendar sync and attendees pulled into each event's thread. Premium Pro cross-posts events to several servers and gives the bot a custom name and avatar.

Best if you want a thread for every event and a web dashboard that keeps the whole schedule, with Google Calendar sync.

sesh

sesh calls itself a calendar bot for Discord. /create makes an event from a single message, with the time written the way people say it, such as tomorrow at 5pm, and the web interface adds more options. Members RSVP with buttons and get a confirmation DM, where they can set their own reminders, and notifications go to any channel before or when the event starts. Times show in each viewer's own time zone. A calendar view on its dashboard can be made public, and a calendar feed brings the events into Google Calendar or other calendar apps. Events can also be mirrored to Discord's own events. Each event can get a thread, and /poll runs standard polls and time polls that can be anonymous. Event and attendee data can be exported. Premium adds repeating events, custom RSVP options with limits and a waitlist, roles for attendees and two-way Google Calendar sync. The sesh Pro plan adds API access, webhooks and your own bot name and avatar.

Best if you want events made from one message, times in each viewer's own zone and a calendar that reaches Google Calendar and Discord's own events.

Raid-Helper

Raid-Helper calls itself the ultimate tool to create and organize events within Discord, and it has run since 2019. Its homepage also lists polling, reaction roles and embeds. /create asks for an event's details in your DMs, /quickcreate makes one in a single command that reads natural-language dates and the web dashboard is a third way. Members sign up by clicking a class reaction, the bot sends a list of specs by DM when the class has them and role counters sit above the roster. Past an event's limit, sign-ups go to a bench or to a queue whose first member is moved in and notified when a spot opens. A lower limit sets the fewest sign-ups an event needs. A reminder in the event channel pings everyone signed up, and an event can open a thread or forum post and a temporary voice channel. /attendance reports statistics you can filter by date, tag, channel and role, /export writes events to CSV and members' DKP can be kept and changed. Premium, sold as one-time packages per server that can move to another server, adds repeating events, custom templates, personal reminders, a temporary role for attendees, Discord's own scheduled events and webhooks.

Best if you run raids with classes and specs and want attendance statistics, CSV exports and DKP in the same bot.

Beacon Events, built into YourBot

Beacon Events is one of YourBot's ten core services, and every feature below is free on the shared bot. /beacon create opens a short form in Discord, and the web wizard builds an event in five steps with a live preview of the post, from one of ten built-in templates or your own. The event posts with Sign Up, Leave and Options buttons. Each role has its own cap and can hold classes and specs with caps of their own, and tentative, late, bench and absent are one click away. When a role or the event is full, new sign-ups wait. When someone leaves, the longest-waiting member is moved in and gets a DM. Sign-ups can close a set number of minutes before the start.

A server default reminder goes out before every event, and each event can add as many reminders as you like, to the channel or by DM. Events repeat daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly with an optional end date, in your server's time zone or another you name. Turn on auto voice and a voice channel opens before the start, limited to the people who signed up if you like. Shortly after the start, attendance is credited and feeds each member's reputation score from 0 to 100, and an availability heatmap shows the best times to schedule. A month and week calendar on the dashboard, an attendee CSV per event and button polls with /poll create come with it. Beacon opens no thread per event and has no link to Discord's own scheduled events.

Best if you want roles with classes and specs, a waitlist and repeating events free, in the same bot as moderation and the other services.

Frequently asked questions

Which Discord event bot is the most used?

By the server counts on their top.gg listings, Apollo comes first, sesh a close second and Raid-Helper third. The counts change every day, so this page gives the order and not the numbers.

Which event bots are free?

Apollo and sesh have free plans, and Raid-Helper sells Premium as one-time packages per server. All three keep some event features for paid plans. Repeating events are Premium at sesh and Raid-Helper, and Apollo's free plan has a limited number of them. Caps with a waitlist are free at Apollo and Premium at sesh. YourBot's Beacon Events runs free on the shared bot with every feature; Premium adds your own custom bot and the marketplace.

Can YourBot run raids with roles, classes and specs?

Yes. Each Beacon event has roles with their own caps, such as Tank 2, Healer 4 and DPS 14, and a role can hold classes and specs with caps of their own. Ten built-in templates, such as WoW Mythic Raid, FFXIV Full Party and PvP Night, come with role caps ready, and tentative, late, bench and absent are one click away.

Can I move from another event bot?

Yes. Let the events already posted with the old bot run their course and post the next ones with Beacon Events, so members sign up in one place. Set a weekly raid to repeat in the web editor, and save any event as a template to start the next one from it.
