VibeBot alternative: YourBot vs VibeBot

VibeBot calls itself the AI Discord bot maker: describe your bot, AI builds and hosts it. You type what you want, its builder writes Discord.js code for a bot that runs under your own Discord application, with your name and avatar, in a container VibeBot hosts. It advertises conversational editing that remembers what it built, a set of form-configured templates for the standard features and six AI agents for moderation, auto-responses, tickets and chat personas, with a paid packaged export of the source so you can self-host. By its own description it is a builder and a host, not a shared bot and not a free one: it runs on a paid trial and paid plans, and the AI Bot Builder sits on the Pro tier and bills by usage on top.

YourBot answers the same wish, a bot that does exactly what your server needs, from the other end. Ten core services are finished products with their own dashboards, free on every server: Sentinel moderation, Tickets, Analytics, Beacon Events, Group Finder, Voice Channels, Welcome, Announcements, Giveaways and Social Feeds. When none of them covers what you need, the Plugin Builder writes a plugin from your description that runs beside them, and the same plugin can be published to an open marketplace and sold.

The short version

• Pick VibeBot if you want one bespoke bot generated end to end, including things YourBot does not ship such as music, an economy, custom commands and an AI chat persona, and you are happy to pay for hosting from day one.

Two answers to the same prompt

On VibeBot the prompt produces a whole bot. Its docs explain that builder-written features land as JavaScript actions on your bot and that the builder reads your server's channels and roles, asks questions before it ships and publishes each feature the moment it finishes. Two details from the same docs are worth knowing before you start: a build session takes your bot offline for as long as you work, and the version history panel restores template features, while anything the builder wrote is changed by asking the builder again.

On YourBot the prompt produces a plugin, and the platform around it is already running. You describe the feature, the Plugin Builder answers with a plan first and quotes the cost before anything is generated, planning costs about a cent and replanning costs the same, then the build streams live and passes the same validator every marketplace submission passes: manifest errors, capabilities used but not declared, dashboard widgets without handlers and SQL the sandbox would reject are all caught before you see a result. Nothing installs itself. You test it on your own server for a day and download the package as a zip whenever you like, then publish it, privately or for sale, when you are ready. Your existing bot keeps running throughout.

What is already built before you type anything

VibeBot's templates are pre-configured setups you fill in on a form, and its docs say they never spend AI credits. The catalogue is broad: welcome, leveling, giveaways, starboard, economy, auto-moderation, event logging, raid protection, warnings, a mod queue, ban appeals, reaction roles, custom commands, tickets, suggestions and polls, timed and sticky roles, reminders, a music player, scheduled messages, social feeds and matchmaking, with the music and AI ones on Pro. That breadth is real, and several of those things, music, an economy, custom commands and a chat persona, have no YourBot equivalent.

YourBot's ten services are deeper than a template because each is a full product. Sentinel is a rules engine with 22 condition types, 13 actions and 3 triggers, anti-nuke with twelve watches, look-alike raid detection, lockdown scopes, numbered cases, web appeals and a message log with before and after text. Tickets opens each request as a private channel, thread or review queue with intake forms, staff teams, response-time targets and transcripts. Analytics has 11 dashboard pages from cohort retention to counter channels and never stores message content. Welcome renders PNG cards and gates entry with a button, a captcha or a web page. Beacon takes event signups into role slots and Group Finder runs LFG across servers, while Social Feeds watches Twitch, YouTube, Bluesky, RSS, Steam, GitHub, Reddit and status pages. All of it is switched on from one dashboard and all of it is free.

Owning the bot

Both platforms run your bot under your own Discord application. VibeBot walks you through creating the application in Discord's developer portal, stores the token encrypted and deploys the bot to a container it hosts, and its docs note that the generated invite link asks for Administrator, to be scoped down afterwards. On YourBot a custom bot is the Premium tier: your own application, name, avatar and presence, hosted as a dedicated process that a watchdog restarts if it crashes, with the token encrypted at rest under a per-server key and never shown back to you. If you would rather not set that up, the shared bot runs all ten services under the YourBot name, free, and if Premium ever lapses your server falls back to it instead of going dark. Plugins, whether from the marketplace or the builder, run on the custom bot.

Code, export and lock-in

VibeBot's bot is standard Discord.js, and its about page says you can take the source and self-host; its pricing page lists that packaged export as a paid add-on charged per export. A YourBot plugin is a package you can download as a zip at any point, built on a published SDK, and it runs inside YourBot's sandbox rather than on a server of your own. Which of those is the better deal depends on whether you want to leave with a bot or leave with a product: a YourBot plugin can be listed on the marketplace, where the developer keeps 70% of each sale, rising to 85% as volume grows.

Safety

VibeBot says generated code passes a sandbox linter and auto-fix step before it reaches your bot, and that each bot deploys to its own container. YourBot's validator and scanner run on every version, generated or hand-written, and a plugin then runs in a container with no network access, a read-only filesystem, zero Linux capabilities and hard memory and CPU limits. It reaches the outside world only through a proxy you approved, and you approve the capabilities it may use at install time; an update that asks for more waits for your consent.

What each costs, structurally

VibeBot's own guidance says not to describe it as free: there is a paid trial, then paid tiers, all of which include hosting, and the builder is metered on top. YourBot's free plan runs all ten core services with no feature paywalls. Premium, billed per server, adds the custom bot, marketplace plugins, the Plugin Builder, 50 lifetime Start Your Server designs and premium support, and the AI builders draw on prepaid credits that are separate from any plan. Pricing has the current terms, and the other comparisons weigh the all-in-one bots the same way.
