What is YourBot?
YourBot is a Discord bot platform. Ten services are built in: analytics, moderation, tickets, events, giveaways, group finder, voice channels, welcome, announcements and social feeds. A marketplace adds plugins written by other developers. Every server gets its own configuration and data. Nothing is shared between servers.
Adding the bot to your server
Click Add to your server on the home page to invite the shared YourBot. Once added, visit the dashboard to select your server and start configuring.
One YourBot subscription covers your server: the bot, all 10 core services, a custom bot identity and marketplace access. A subscribed server that stays on the shared bot can give it its own picture, banner and about me in that server. See How the bot looks in your server.
The two ways to run it
| Shared bot | Custom bot | |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | The YourBot name and avatar. With a subscription it can show your own picture, banner and about me in your server | Your own bot name, avatar and token |
| Built-in services | All ten | All ten |
| Marketplace plugins | Not available | Full access |
| Sandbox controls | Not applicable | You choose each plugin's capabilities |
| Server slot | Not applicable | Transferable between your servers |
| Start Your Server | Designs cost AI credits | Free designs included (what it costs) |
| Cost | Covered by your subscription | Paid |
Setting up a YourBot subscription
- Go to Account, then Buy Subscription.
- Choose your billing period, monthly or annual.
- Complete payment through Stripe.
- Back on the Account page, assign the slot to your server.
Configuring your custom bot token
After assigning a subscription to your server:
- Create a bot application in the Discord Developer Portal.
- Copy the bot token.
- Go to Bot Settings in the YourBot dashboard.
- Paste the token and click Set Token.
- Invite your custom bot to your server using the generated invite link.
Your custom bot runs the same code as the shared bot. Every service, command and setting in these docs applies to both. Three differences to know about:
- Slash commands are registered on your bot's application, so they appear under your bot's name in the command picker.
- Marketplace plugins run only on custom bots, because each one is sandboxed against your bot's token and the capabilities you grant it.
- The shared bot speaks for every server on it, so Welcome text you write (greetings, goodbyes, DMs, card text, the verification message, rules and role menus) that looks like invite spam or a scam is held and not sent until you change it, and the dashboard says why. A custom bot sends your text as written.
Moving a subscription
You can reassign a subscription to a different server from the Account page. Plugin licences and configuration move with it. The server it left reverts to the shared bot and keeps its data and settings.
