Turns goodbye messages on or off. Requires Manage Server; without it the bot replies "Requires Manage Server." The reply is visible only to you and reads "Goodbye messages enabled." or "Goodbye messages disabled."
With goodbye on, the bot posts a message when a member leaves. It goes to the goodbye channel, or to the welcome channel when no goodbye channel is set. Nothing is posted when neither is set. Bots leaving are ignored.
The default text is "{user} has left the server. We had {member_count} members." It takes the member and server tags, such as {user} and {member_count}, plus {user.member_for} for how long they stayed. When the bot knows the member's join date it adds a line such as "They were a member for 12 days.", unless the text already uses {user.member_for}.
Good to know
- The goodbye channel, the text and the rotating goodbyes are set on the Messages page, on the Goodbye tab. There is no command for them.
- While the goodbye's Rotating messages list has entries, one of those is sent instead of the single text.
- By default the goodbye is plain text, and a rotating goodbye with a picture shows the picture below the text. On the Goodbye tab, Send as can make it an embed, and Goodbye card sends the goodbye card designed in the Card Studio with it.
