Turns goodbye messages on or off. Requires Manage Server; without it the bot replies "Requires Manage Server." The reply is visible only to you and reads "Goodbye messages enabled." or "Goodbye messages disabled."
With goodbye on, the bot posts a message when a member leaves. It goes to the goodbye channel, or to the welcome channel when no goodbye channel is set. Nothing is posted when neither is set. Bots leaving are ignored.
The default text is "{user} has left the server. We had {member_count} members." It accepts the same placeholders as the welcome message. When the bot knows the member's join date it adds a line such as "They were a member for 12 days."
Good to know
- The goodbye channel, the text and the Rotating Goodbyes list are set on the Settings page. There is no command for them.
- While the Rotating Goodbyes list has entries, one of those is sent instead of the single text.
- Goodbye messages are plain text, never an embed or a card. A rotating goodbye with a picture shows the picture below the text.
