Takes over the room you are in when its owner has gone. Unlike the owner commands it does not need you to be the owner. The service must be on and you must be inside one of its rooms.
The bot checks two things and tells you which one failed: you must not already own the room ("You already own this room.") and the owner must not be inside ("The owner is still here. Ask them for /voice transfer."). Outside a voice channel you get "Join your Join-to-Create room first. This only works from inside one."
When the claim goes through, the bot records you as the owner. It replaces the control panel in the previous owner's DMs with "This room now belongs to {name}." When the server also posts the panel in the room's chat, that copy stays and now names you. When the server gives owners Discord's own channel menu (on the Room owners page, "Owners can also use Discord's own channel menu"), it gives you the owner permissions on the room and removes the previous owner's entry. It sends you a fresh panel when the panel is on for that lobby. You see a private reply: "👑 This room is yours now."
Good to know
- Rooms with no owner at all, shown as "Unclaimed" on the panel, can be claimed by anyone inside.
- By default a room usually passes to someone still inside the moment its owner leaves (on the Room owners page, "When the owner leaves"), so claim is mostly for servers that set it to wait for a claim.
- The panel's Claim button does the same, and it works for anyone in the room once the owner is gone. Pressed by someone who is not in that room, it answers "Join the room first, then claim it."
