Puts a member on the server's watchlist by hand. Discord shows the /watchlist group only to members with Manage Messages by default. The bot checks Command Access rules, that the Moderation service is enabled ("Sentinel is not enabled for this server."), and that the moderator is an Administrator or holds a moderator role from the Settings page ("No permission."). Any member can be added, including staff.
The reason is optional (up to 500 characters) and is shown on the watchlist to staff only. The member is flagged as watchlisted and the entry records who added them. The reply is "member#0000 is on the watchlist. Remove with /watchlist remove." A "Watchlist: member added" card with the member, who acted and the reason ("No reason" when empty) goes to the moderation log channel.
The member is not told and nothing happens to them on Discord. No case is opened. Being watchlisted is one of the signals in the member's risk score.
Good to know
- The watchlist also fills itself: when a member's risk reaches the track band and "Auto-watchlist at track" is on, they are added automatically and drop off again when the score falls back below track.
- Adding someone by hand takes over an automatic entry, so they stay on the list until staff remove them.
