Looks up one case by its number. Discord shows the command to everyone by default, but the bot only answers an Administrator or a holder of a moderator role from the Settings page ("No permission."). It also checks Command Access rules and that the Moderation service is enabled ("Sentinel is not enabled for this server."). Only the moderator sees the reply.

Case numbers count up per server, so #42 is the server's 42nd case. A number that does not exist gets "Case #42 not found." Otherwise the reply shows the case number and its type in capitals, then "Status: open", "Target: @member", "Actor: @moderator" (or "Actor: Automod" for cases the automod opened), "Reason: ..." with the first 300 characters, and "Created: 2026-09-21 14:03:00".

Good to know

  • The reply names the moderator even when anonymous moderation is on, because only staff can run it.
  • The dashboard Cases page shows the same case with its evidence and notes, and is where staff change its status.
