Test it on your server

There are two ways to try a draft in real Discord before anyone else sees it: one click from the draft review that runs it privately on a server with a custom bot, or a 24-hour dev install with the Dev Bot.

Run it on my server

The quickest way to see your plugin working is Run it on my server on the draft review. One click saves the plugin as yours, publishes it privately (no marketplace listing and no review) and installs it on the server you pick. Nothing is listed publicly and nothing else is charged.

  • You pick the server and what the plugin may do there. Anything you leave unchecked stays off, and sensitive permissions such as reading message content are marked.
  • If the plugin calls outside websites, you pick which ones it may reach.
  • The server needs an active YourBot subscription with its custom bot set up, and you need the Manager role there.
  • New commands can take a minute to show up in Discord.

You can list the plugin publicly later from its page. If a step after saving cannot finish, for example because the security scan has not landed yet, the plugin is still saved and its overview page says what is left, with a button for each remaining step. Commands that overlap with ones already on the server go through the usual conflicts page before the install.

Test with the Dev Bot

You can also save the draft with Create plugin from this draft and test it from the plugin's overview page with the Dev Bot. Invite the Dev Bot to a server you manage, then dev-install any version there. A dev install gets every capability the plugin asks for without an approval step and expires after 24 hours. You can have up to 3 active at once. This works before you have a custom bot.

Publishing

When you are happy with it, submit a version for review from the Versions tab to list it on the marketplace. The developer docs cover review, pricing plans and payouts.
