Blocks a member or a whole role from entering any giveaway in this server. The commands keep their names; the dashboard and the replies call it "Blocked from giveaways". target takes either a member or a role. reason is optional and holds up to 200 characters. Only staff see it, in /giveaway blacklist list and on the dashboard's Settings page.
The Giveaways service must be enabled ("The Giveaways service is not enabled here.") and you need the Manage Server permission or to own the server. The giveaway host role is not enough here: "You need the Manage Server permission to manage who is blocked from giveaways." Blocking @everyone is refused: "Blocking @everyone would stop every entry. Pick a specific role."
On success the private reply is "🚫 @name can no longer enter giveaways in this server." Blocking the same member or role again keeps them blocked and updates the reason.
From then on a blocked member who presses Enter is told "You are not allowed to enter giveaways in this server.", and one who reacts gets the same by DM after "Giveaway entry rejected:". A blocked role is checked against the member's roles at the moment they try to enter. Roles that skip the entry rules do not get around a block.
Good to know
- Blocking someone does not delete entries they already made. A blocked member is never drawn, and a pick who has a blocked role is replaced.
- The same list is on the dashboard under Settings, Blocked from giveaways, where Block someone takes a role or a member, by name or Discord user ID.
- Undo with /giveaway blacklist remove.
