Say it once. Post it on schedule.
Write a post once and let the bot publish it at the minute you chose, or every day, week or month in your own time zone. You manage it from a calendar on the web. Members just see a normal message from the bot.
How it works
#announcements, #announcement or #news exists, the wizard uses it and leaves it as it is. If not, it creates #announcements, where members can read but not post, and posts a short guide there.Everything it does
The complete list, grouped by what you are trying to do. Every item describes what Announcements does today.
Writing the post
The compose form is a small text editor with a preview that behaves like Discord.
Scheduling
One-time or recurring, always in the time zone you set for that post.
Managing the queue
Everything waiting to go out lives on one calendar, with the history underneath it.
Mentions
Pings are opt-in per post, and the setting is enforced in what is sent to Discord.
/announce now suppresses everyone and here and has no switch to change that.Delivery that repairs itself
The scheduler assumes channels get deleted, bots lose permissions and workers restart.
Commands
Every slash command the service registers, and who can run it. Most day-to-day use happens through buttons and the dashboard; commands are the fast path.
| Command | What it does | Who |
|---|---|---|
/announce now | Posts a plain-text announcement to a channel within about 30 seconds. No embeds and no mention switches; everyone and here are suppressed. | Staff |
/announce list | Shows up to 15 pending announcements with their time, channel and recurrence. Only you see the reply. | Staff |
/announce cancel | Cancels a pending announcement by its number. | Staff |
In the dashboard
Everything is configured from the web, per server. These are the areas you will find there.
#announcements, #announcement or #news channel as it is, or creates #announcements with read-only permissions for members and a short guide, pinned when the bot has the Pin Messages permission. Safe to run again.Runs on its own
Limits and plans
The service is included on both the Free and the Premium plan. These are the fixed limits it works within, and they are the same on each.
| Setting | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pending announcements per server | 100 | One-time and recurring posts still waiting to fire. |
| Message length | 2,000 characters | Discord's limit for a message. |
| Embeds per announcement | 10 | Discord's limit. |
| Label length | 200 characters | Dashboard only, never posted. |
| Recurrence | daily, weekly, monthly | Weekly on any weekdays. Monthly on a day of the month or the last day. |
| Scheduler pass | every 30 s | Up to 100 posts claimed per pass. |

What it does not do
Worth knowing before you set it up. If one of these matters to you, the marketplace may have a plugin that covers it. Marketplace plugins need a subscription and a custom bot.
- No file or image uploads. An embed can reference an image by URL.
- No buttons, menus or forms attached to a post.
- No test send to a private channel. Fire now is a real send.
- No yearly schedule and no every-N-days interval. The options are daily, weekly and monthly.
- No templates library or bulk import. Each announcement is created on its own.
- No per-member delivery, opt-in roles or read tracking. A post goes to a channel.
- No cross-server broadcast. Each announcement belongs to one server.
Questions
What happens if the bot is offline when a post is due?
It posts once at the next 30-second check after the bot is back, then the series continues on its normal schedule.
Can I post an image?
Not as an upload. Put the image URL in an embed and it renders in Discord.
Will a post ping everyone?
Only if you switch on everyone and here for that announcement. The default is off, and the slash command cannot turn it on.
What if I delete the channel a series posts to?
The next send is skipped, the series is flagged and the owner is notified once a day. Edit the announcement, choose a new channel, and it re-arms.
Who can schedule announcements?
Anyone with the manager role for your server on the dashboard. The slash commands are for the server owner, Administrators and members with Manage Server, and the Commands page can allow a role or a member as well.
Does it work with my own bot token?
Yes. Posts go through the same queue as everything else, so they come from whichever bot runs your server.
Turn on Announcements in one click.
Add YourBot to your server, open the dashboard and switch the service on. Settings live on the web, so nothing here needs a command to configure.
