Rainbow Six Siege should be organized around five-player squads, matchmaking pool, playlist, rank compatibility, tactical responsibility, map/site preparation, and the difference between normal matchmaking, Siege Cup, scrims, and limited-time modes. Siege is not a generic five-player co-op game just because its core mode is 5v5. The five-player number is real, but how you use those five seats changes depending on whether the group is playing Ranked, Standard, Quick Match, Siege Cup, a custom scrim, or a limited-time event.
The current crossplay model also matters. Console players can opt into the PC matchmaking pool and squad with PC friends, but PC players do not enter the protected console matchmaking pool. A mixed PC/console squad therefore plays in the PC pool. Console players also keep separate Ranked progression for the PC pool versus their console pool.
That means a useful Siege Discord should ask:
- PC pool or console pool?
- Ranked, Standard, Quick Match, Siege Cup, custom scrim, coaching, or event?
- current Rank if Ranked
- five-stack or partial stack?
- shot-caller / entry / support / flex / flank-watch responsibilities?
- attacking/defending operator pool?
- voice required?
- map/site focus?
- tournament/scrim rules?
before it simply asks "who wants to play?"
This guide builds a fictional 256-member community called Breachline Collective. It supports PC, Xbox, and PlayStation players, with separate console-pool and PC-pool LFG. It runs Ranked stacks, newcomer sessions, custom 5v5 scrims, Siege Cup teams, VOD review, coaching, map/site practice, and current seasonal events. YourBot handles the Discord structure and coordination. Rainbow Six Siege remains authoritative for matchmaking pool, rank, Ranked restrictions, Operator ownership, playlist access, sanctions, reputation, anti-cheat state, custom-game state, and tournament eligibility.
Start With the Right Rainbow Six Siege Community Model
Core Siege is 5v5
Ubisoft currently describes Siege as a high-stakes 5v5 Attack versus Defense tactical shooter.
That is the most important hard capacity in this guide.
A normal team contains five players. A complete Siege Cup squad also requires a full five-player team. Ubisoft esports competition likewise uses five-player teams.
That makes 5 the correct default target for:
- Ranked
- Standard
- Quick Match
- Siege Cup
- custom scrims
- map/site practice
- tournament teams
Unlike many games in this guide series, YourBot's generic five-person Quick Group happens to match the core Siege squad size—but it is still not sufficient because it lacks pool, playlist, Rank, tactical-role, and scrim context.
Console pool and PC pool are separate operational concepts
Since Console-to-PC Crossplay 1.0:
- console players can opt into the PC player pool
- PC players cannot opt into the console matchmaking pool
- any squad containing a PC player uses the PC matchmaking pool
- console players maintain separate Ranked progression when they play in the PC pool versus the console pool
That means Discord should use roles such as:
PC PoolConsole PoolXboxPlayStation
A console member may legitimately select both Console Pool and PC Pool interests if they sometimes play with PC friends.
Do not create:
PC / Xbox / PlayStation = fully interchangeable Ranked queue
because the pool affects matchmaking and Ranked progression.
Cross-progression is broader than matchmaking
Ubisoft Connect shares much of a player's progression and inventory across linked platforms, including Operators, cosmetics, Renown/R6 Credits, and other synchronized data.
That is separate from matchmaking-pool logic.
A player may own the same Operators across platforms but still have:
- different console-pool Ranked progression
- PC-pool Ranked progression
- different input environment
- different friend groups
Discord should not infer Rank from account ownership or platform.
Ranked 3.0 is live
Year 11 Season 2 introduced Ranked 3.0, which is already live in September 2026.
Current Ranked 3.0 includes:
- visible Rank instead of hidden MMR progression
- five Placement Matches at the beginning of a season
- Competitive Rewards progression
- rank-sensitive RP gains/losses
- squad Rank restrictions after placements
- revised Champion structure
- map-ban changes
Current squad restrictions state:
- Copper through Emerald can queue with teammates within three full Ranks
- Diamond and Champion are limited to teammates within two full Ranks
- Placement Matches do not use those Squad Restrictions
This matters for Discord LFG.
A Ranked 5-stack template should include current Rank so the organizer does not assemble a squad that the game refuses to queue.
YourBot should not calculate or enforce Ubisoft's live Rank restriction automatically unless a maintained integration exists. Use self-reported Rank and confirm in-game.
Legend Division is upcoming, not live on September 25
Operation Split Fire includes a new Legend Division, but Ubisoft's current roadmap still marks it for mid-season.
Current published requirements include:
- Champion in the current season
- the relevant prior-season qualifying requirement
- R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform
- app-based two-factor authentication
The exact final live behavior should be verified when the playlist actually launches.
Do not give members a Legend Player role simply because they say they plan to qualify.
As of September 25, treat this as:
Legend Division Prep
not a live matchmaking template.
Operator roles are tactical responsibilities, not locked game classes
Siege has Attackers and Defenders with unique gadgets, but Discord should not force every member into one permanent role.
Useful tactical responsibilities include:
Attack
- Entry
- Secondary Entry
- Hard Breach
- Soft Breach / Vertical
- Support
- Flank Watch
- Intel
- Flex / IGL
Defense
- Anchor
- Roam
- Flex
- Plant Denial
- Intel
- Entry Denial
- Breach Denial
- Utility Denial
A member may play several.
A useful Ranked listing can say:
Need support/hard-breach comfortable player.
Avoid:
You chose Entry during onboarding, so you can never play Support.
Current live state: Operation Split Fire
As of September 25, 2026, Year 11 Season 3 — Operation Split Fire is live.
Current content includes:
- new Defender Noor
- Horus Lance anti-shield/area-denial gadget
- Villa targeted map update
- modernized Stadium Alpha, Stadium Bravo, and House
- Y11S3 balancing changes
- Y11S3.1 refinement patch from September 22
- current Ranked 3.0 ecosystem
The limited-time 3v3 Arcade ran September 8–21 and is no longer live on September 25.
The Wasteland Circuit drone-racing event is live from September 23 through October 13.
A later returning event is also scheduled for the season.
Do not turn the expired 3v3 Arcade into a permanent LFG category.

1. Create the Foundation With Start Your Server
Do not create one Discord channel for every Operator or map.
Siege changes too frequently for that.
Use durable categories and templates.

2. Welcome: Pool Before Rank
Onboarding order:
- platform
- matchmaking pool
- playlist interests
- tactical interests
- optional Rank band
Recommended self-select roles:
- PC
- Xbox
- PlayStation
- PC Pool
- Console Pool
- Ranked
- Standard
- Quick Match
- Siege Cup
- Scrims
- Coaching
- New / Returning
- Entry
- Support
- Hard Breach
- Flex
- IGL
- Roam
- Anchor
Optional Rank bands:
- Copper/Bronze
- Silver/Gold
- Platinum/Emerald
- Diamond/Champion
Do not treat self-selected Rank as verified.
A concise greeting:
Welcome to Breachline Collective. Pick your platform and the matchmaking pool you actually use. Console players can opt into the PC pool; any squad with a PC player uses the PC pool. Core Siege is 5v5. For Ranked, include your current self-reported Rank so the stack can confirm Ubisoft's live squad restrictions before queueing.
Test: Join with an Xbox test account, select Console Pool, Ranked, and Support, and confirm no PC-only or staff role is forced.
3. Sentinel: Protect a Competitive Shooter Community
Siege communities deal with:
- cheat sellers
- boosting/account-sale scams
- phishing
- spoofing-device discussion
- toxic harassment
- impersonation
- fake esports links
- malicious executables
Focus Sentinel on:
- cheat loaders
- credential-stealing "boosting"
- account sales
- fake Ubisoft logins
- phishing
- malicious files
- doxxing
- threats
- raid/spam behavior
- impersonation
Do not automatically punish legitimate discussion of:
- MouseTrap
- ShieldGuard
- cheating reports
- anti-cheat patches
- competitive integrity
Ubisoft's current core rules prohibit cheating, toxicity, sanction circumvention, and related unfair behavior.
Sentinel can moderate Discord. It cannot detect or punish in-game cheating.
Test: Use a staff-only dummy cheat-sale message and fake Ubisoft-login link. Confirm the expected moderation action without blocking normal anti-cheat discussion.
4. Tickets: Reports, Coaching, Scrims, and Appeals Need Different Queues
Member / Conduct Report
Ask for:
- Discord member
- message link
- screenshot/clip
- harassment/phishing/cheat-sale context
Do not use Discord tickets as a substitute for Ubisoft's in-game report tools.
Coaching Request
Ask for:
- platform/pool
- current Rank
- preferred role
- biggest problem: aim | positioning | drones | attack planning | defense setup | comms | utility | map knowledge
- VOD available? yes/no
- preferred time
Scrim Request
Ask for:
- team/community name
- region
- matchmaking pool/platform
- date/time
- format: BO1 | BO3 | practice map block
- current skill level
- map-ban rules
- server/host arrangement
- observer/coaching policy
Tournament / Siege Cup Issue
Ask for:
- event
- roster
- eligibility issue
- time
- screenshot/error
- organizer involved
YourBot cannot change Siege Cup eligibility.
Moderation Appeal
Ask for:
- Discord sanction
- reason
- context
- evidence
Separate Discord sanctions from Ubisoft sanctions.
Test: Open one coaching request and one scrim request. Confirm Coaches and Scrim Coordinators receive different queues.
5. Group Finder: Build a Real Five-Stack Template
Read-only inspection of YourBot's current develop revision shows Rainbow Six Siege is not in Group Finder's automatic game-detection list.
The generic setup always adds a five-person Quick Group.
Five is the correct core Siege team size, but the generic template still lacks the information Siege actually needs.
Ranked template
Template Name: Rainbow Six Siege — Ranked 5-Stack
Game: Rainbow Six Siege
Default Party Size: 5
Default Expiry: 90 minutes
Description: Ranked five-stack. Require matchmaking pool, region, current self-reported Rank, placement status, tactical-role interests, voice, and session goal. Confirm live Ranked 3.0 squad restrictions in-game before queue.
Additional templates
| Template | Target | Required context |
|---|---|---|
| Ranked 5-Stack | 5 | Pool, region, Rank, placements, roles, voice |
| Standard / Quick Match | 5 | Pool, region, casual/learning goal |
| Siege Cup | 5 | Full squad, eligibility, event time |
| Custom Scrim Team | 5 | Pool/platform, map block, rules, captain |
| Map/Site Practice | 5 | Map, Attack/Defense, site, roles |
| Coaching Session | 5 or smaller | VOD/live custom, focus area |
| 3v3 Arcade | 3 when live | Only create while current playlist is live |
| Event-specific | current rules | Verify exact event format |
Ranked example
Title: Ranked — Gold/Plat Stack

Region: NA East
Target: 5
Current: 4/5
Ranks:
- Gold
- Gold
- Platinum
- Platinum
Placements: Complete
Need:
- Support / hard-breach comfortable
Voice: Required
Session: 2 hours
Notes:
- Rank is self-reported.
- Confirm Ubisoft's current squad restrictions before queue.
- Joining Discord does not create the in-game squad.
Console-to-PC example
Title: Ranked — Console Players Joining PC Pool
Pool: PC Pool
Platforms:
- PC
- Xbox
- PlayStation
Target: 5
Notes:
- Because a PC player is present, this uses PC matchmaking.
- Console players' PC-pool Rank is separate from console-pool Ranked progression.
Test: Fill a Ranked group to five and confirm the sixth waits. Then create a three-player event template and verify it exists only while the relevant mode is actually available.
6. Beacon Events: Scrims, Siege Cup, and Community Competitions
Beacon is ideal for:
- scheduled scrim
- Siege Cup team block
- VOD review
- Ranked placement night
- custom map practice
- in-house 5v5
- community tournament
- seasonal event night
Scrim example
Event: Breachline vs. Northstar Scrim
Format: Best of 3
Pool: PC
Team A: 5
Team B: 5
Observers/Admin: 2
Map Ban: Before start
Rules: Breachline Scrim Rules v2.1
Voice:
- Team A room
- Team B room
- Admin room
Start: 8:00 PM Eastern
This event has 12 Discord attendees but the match is still 5v5.
Siege Cup
Ubisoft requires a full squad for Siege Cup rather than creating teammates through matchmaking.
Use:
Event: Siege Cup
Roster: 5
Captain: Assigned
Eligibility: Each player confirms in-game
Voice: Required
Community tournament
Ubisoft's 2026 Competition Hub supports grassroots/semi-pro events and tournament licensing.
If Breachline runs a public tournament with prize money/sponsors, review Ubisoft's current licensing rules instead of assuming a Discord event is automatically authorized.
Beacon RSVP does not:
- create the custom lobby
- verify eligibility
- submit a tournament license
- grant Ranked access
- validate anti-cheat
- lock Operator/map bans
Test: Create a 10-player in-house event as Team A 5 + Team B 5, plus optional admin/observer roles outside the playing roster.
7. Join-to-Create Voice: Five-Stack, Team A, Team B, Review
Create:
Join Ranked
- limit 5
Join Casual
- limit 5
Scrim Team A
- limit 5
Scrim Team B
- limit 5
Coaching / VOD Review
- flexible
Tournament Admin
- restricted
Siege benefits from voice communication, but public members should not be able to enter the opposing scrim team's room.
For tournament/custom games:
- lock team rooms during maps
- use admin room for disputes/rehosts
- reopen social voice afterward
Test: Fill a five-player Ranked room and verify the sixth cannot enter. Confirm Team A cannot enter Team B's restricted scrim room if the event uses temporary permissions.
8. Announcements: Separate Live Split Fire From Expired and Upcoming Features
Use LIVE, ENDED, and UPCOMING.
Current example:
Rainbow Six Siege — September 25, 2026
LIVE:
- Y11S3 Operation Split Fire
- Noor
- Villa targeted map update
- Y11S3.1
- Ranked 3.0
- Wasteland Circuit: Sep 23-Oct 13
ENDED:
- Split Fire 3v3 Arcade: Sep 8-21
UPCOMING MID-SEASON:
- Legend Division
- R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform rollout for Legend
- app-based 2FA requirements for Legend
RANKED:
- Core squad = 5.
- Confirm live squad Rank restrictions before queueing.
Wasteland Circuit is a drone-racing event, not normal 5v5 Bomb.
Do not advertise it as a Ranked mode.
Use opt-in roles:
@Ranked@Siege Cup@Scrims@Events@Patch Notes
Test: Schedule a Wasteland Circuit reminder using only @Events, and verify it posts once.
9. Social Feeds: Add Rainbow Six Siege Through Steam
Read-only inspection of YourBot's current Social Feeds catalog shows no curated Rainbow Six Siege entry and no App ID 359550 entry.
The verified Steam App ID is:
359550
Create:
Source: Steam
Steam App ID: 359550
Display Name: Rainbow Six Siege — Official Steam News
Destination: #siege-updates
Ping Role: None by default
Digest: Off or hourly
The inspected Steam source uses:
- public ISteamNews
- numeric App ID
- publisher community announcements
- 900-second default interval
Ubisoft's official Siege website should still be used for:
- roadmap
- current season page
- player-protection updates
- esports/tournament rules
- event pages
Do not claim the Steam feed mirrors every Ubisoft news post.
Test: Add App ID 359550, preview it in #siege-updates, and confirm no unintended role ping.
10. Analytics: Measure the Discord, Not Rank or Aim
Analytics can answer:
- Which pool needs more players?
- Do Ranked groups fill?
- Are newcomers using coaching?
- Are scrims recurring?
- Which tactical-role interests are scarce?
- Do event reminders convert to attendance?
- Are temporary voice rooms used?
Analytics does not know:
- Rank
- RP
- K/D
- win/loss
- hidden/live matchmaking state
- Operator ownership
- aim skill
- map win rate
- anti-cheat status
- MouseTrap status
- ShieldGuard eligibility
- sanctions
- Siege Cup eligibility
Do not turn Discord message count into a "best player" score.
Test: Generate public chat, one Ranked LFG, and voice activity; verify private reports/tournament-admin channels are excluded where intended.
11. Giveaways: Keep Discord Rewards Separate From Siege Progression
Safe prizes:
- choose next map-practice block
- choose next community event
- temporary Discord cosmetic role
- community artwork
- legitimate game/platform code fulfilled manually
Do not imply YourBot automatically grants:
- R6 Credits
- Renown
- Battle Pass
- Operators
- skins
- Membership
- Rank
- Siege Cup Competitive Coins
- Legend access
Never request account credentials or 2FA codes.
Test: Run a staff-only giveaway for Choose next map practice, verify draw/reroll behavior, then use a similarly safe public prize.
Build Separate PC-Pool and Console-Pool LFG Without Splitting the Community
Breachline Collective keeps one Discord.
Shared channels work well for:
- Operator discussion
- strategy
- clips
- patch notes
- coaching
- esports
- events
Operational LFG must state the pool.
Console Pool
Players are console-only for that matchmaking session.
PC Pool
Can include:
- PC
- opted-in Xbox
- opted-in PlayStation
If even one PC player is in the squad, the squad uses the PC pool.
Do not use only platform icons as a substitute for the pool role.
Use Tactical Roles as a Planning Language, Not a Lock
A five-stack can use a simple responsibility grid.
Attack
Entry
Second Entry / Flex
Hard Breach
Support / Intel
Flank Watch / Flex
Defense
Anchor
Roam
Flex
Intel
Denial / Utility
Those assignments can shift by map, site, Operator availability, and player comfort.
Do not build a role system that says:
Our Discord Entry can never play Smoke.
Role interests are planning hints.
Ranked 3.0 Makes Rank-Aware LFG Worth Doing
Because current Ranked has visible Rank and squad restrictions, self-reported Rank is operationally useful.
A Ranked listing should include:
- pool
- region
- current Rank
- Placement complete?
- session goal: chill / climb / serious
- role comfort
- voice
- toxicity expectations
Avoid demanding K/D or screenshots as default onboarding.
A player can be useful without publishing an account dossier.
Scrims Need Versioned Rules
A good scrim post should specify:
- 5v5
- BO1/BO3/BO5
- map ban/pick procedure
- competitive map pool
- Operator restrictions if any
- side selection
- overtime
- rehost policy
- tactical timeout policy
- coach/observer permissions
- recording/VOD
- server/pool
- admin contact
Official 2026 esports competition still uses five-player teams and formal map/series structures.
Community scrims can be simpler, but both teams should agree before start.
Do not invent esports rules from memory when running a formal tournament; use the current Ubisoft rulebook.
Treat Player Protection as a Community Rule, Not a Vigilante System
Ubisoft currently maintains:
- MouseTrap for console mouse/keyboard spoofing
- cheater match cancellation
- reputation systems
- anti-toxicity moderation
- ongoing ShieldGuard improvements
Breachline rules should therefore say:
- no cheat sales
- no spoofing-device promotion
- no account boosting by credential sharing
- no ban evasion
- no harassment
- report suspected cheating through official tools
Do not run public Discord witch hunts.
Do not label someone a cheater based only on a clip and then organize harassment.
Tickets can collect Discord-rule evidence; Ubisoft handles game sanctions.
Add a Competitive Squad & Map Readiness Board Only When You Need It
Breachline can launch with the built-in services.
Group Finder handles today's stack. Beacon handles scrims/tournaments. Tickets handle coaching/reports. Announcements handle patches/events.
A custom plugin becomes useful if captains repeatedly ask:
Which members can play which pool, what roles and Operators are they comfortable with, and which maps/sites has our team actually practiced?
Before building, check the Marketplace for a maintained solution. If none fits, create Competitive Squad & Map Readiness Board.
Copy-ready Plugin Builder specification
Plugin Name: Competitive Squad & Map Readiness Board
Purpose:
Maintain Discord-local, self-reported competitive Siege profiles and team practice readiness for Ranked stacks, scrims, Siege Cup, coaching, and map/site preparation without duplicating Group Finder, Beacon Events, Tickets, or Announcements.

Run a Complete First-Week Member Journey
| Scenario | Successful result |
|---|---|
| New Xbox member joins | Selects Console Pool and/or PC Pool intentionally. |
| Ranked LFG | Caps at 5 and includes Rank/pool context. |
| Mixed PC/console stack | Clearly labels PC Pool before members queue. |
| Siege Cup | Beacon roster requires five players and eligibility is confirmed in-game. |
| Scrim | Team A and Team B each contain five, with private team voice. |
| Coaching | Ticket routes privately to Coaches. |
| 3v3 | No permanent LFG template remains after the Sep 21 expiration. |
| Wasteland Circuit | Current event is announced Sep 23-Oct 13 without being described as Ranked. |
| Competitive board | Member profiles remain self-reported; private coaching notes disappear after role revocation. |

Frequently Asked Questions
How many players are on a Rainbow Six Siege team?
Core Siege is 5v5, so a full squad contains five players.
Can PC and console players play together?
Yes. Console players can opt into the PC pool. If a squad contains a PC player, the squad plays in PC matchmaking. PC players do not enter the protected console matchmaking pool.
Can Xbox and PlayStation players play together?
Console crossplay supports play across console families when enabled.
Does a console player's PC-pool Ranked progress equal their console Ranked progress?
No. Ubisoft separates the console player's PC-pool Ranked progression from console-pool Ranked progression.
What is Ranked 3.0?
It is the current Ranked overhaul with visible Rank, five placement matches, Competitive Rewards, Rank-based squad restrictions, and revised Champion progression.
Is Legend Division live?
Not as of September 25, 2026. Ubisoft's current roadmap still marks Legend Division and the ShieldGuard Secure Platform requirement as mid-season.
Is 3v3 Arcade live?
No. Split Fire's 3v3 Arcade ran September 8–21.
What limited-time event is live now?
Wasteland Circuit is live September 23–October 13.
Does YourBot automatically detect Rainbow Six Siege?
Not in the read-only develop revision inspected for this guide. Create explicit Siege templates.
Is Siege already in YourBot Social Feeds?
Not in the inspected curated catalog. Add the generic Steam source manually with App ID 359550.
Can YourBot read my Rank, K/D, RP, ShieldGuard state, or Operator ownership?
Not through the built-in services. The optional Competitive Squad & Map Readiness Board is deliberately self-reported/manual in version 1.
Build the Discord Around the Five-Stack and the Matchmaking Pool
Rainbow Six Siege already has the game-side systems for squads, Ranked, Standard, Quick Match, Siege Cup, custom games, matchmaking pools, Operators, Reputation, anti-cheat, and competitive eligibility. A useful Discord should make those systems easier to coordinate without pretending to replace them.
Start Your Server creates the durable shell. Welcome distinguishes platform from matchmaking pool. Sentinel protects a competitive community from cheat/account scams. Tickets route reports, coaching, and scrim requests. Group Finder builds actual five-stacks with pool/Rank context. Beacon schedules scrims, Siege Cup, and in-house competition. Temporary voice isolates teams. Announcements separate live Split Fire, expired 3v3, live Wasteland Circuit, and upcoming Legend Division. Social Feeds uses official Steam publisher announcements.
Rainbow Six Siege remains authoritative for Rank, matchmaking, playlist access, squads, Operators, anti-cheat, sanctions, Siege Cup, and competitive results.
Use Start Your Server to establish or refine the Discord foundation. Add Plugin Builder only when persistent squad/map readiness becomes a real need the built-in services do not already solve.
