Renames the room you are in. The name option takes 1 to 90 characters. Same checks as the other owner commands: the service is on, you are inside a Join-to-Create room, and you own it (or you hold Manage Channels or Administrator on the server).
Discord allows two renames per channel every ten minutes, and the bot enforces that itself. The first two go through; a third is refused with "Discord allows two renames per room every ten minutes. Try again in {n} min." If Discord holds a rename for more than five seconds the bot gives up on it, counts it, and replies "Discord is limiting renames on this room right now. Try again in a few minutes."
On success you see a private reply: "Renamed to {name}." The bot shows as thinking first, since Discord may hold the edit. Surrounding spaces are trimmed. The room keeps the new name for the rest of its life, and the dashboard's Live Channels list shows it.
Good to know
- The two-per-ten-minutes count is per room and shared by the slash command and the panel's Rename button.
- A rename is not remembered for your next rooms. Use /voice prefs name:"My room" for that.
- A new room's name comes from the lobby's name template unless its owner saved a preferred name.
