Lets a member or a role see and join your room even while it is locked or hidden. The target option takes either. Same checks as the other owner commands: the service is on, you are inside a Join-to-Create room, and you own it (or you hold Manage Channels or Administrator on the server).
In Discord, the bot allows View Channel and Connect on the target's own permission entry for the room and leaves the rest of that entry alone. Because the allow sits on the target itself, it beats the @everyone deny that lock and hide write, and lock and hide skip permitted roles when they bind roles.
The permit is remembered for you on this server and applied again to every new room you create. Up to 25 permits and rejects are kept per owner. You see a private reply: "✅ {name} can always join this room." When your list is full the permit still applies to this room and the reply says so: "✅ {name} can join this room. Your remembered list is full (25), so this one is not kept for your next rooms; /voice unpermit or /voice unreject frees a slot."
The bot refuses a few targets and tells you why:
- @everyone: "That is everyone. Use
/voice lockor/voice hidefor the whole room." - A role owned by an integration: "That role belongs to an integration and cannot be changed here."
- The bot's own role: "That is the bot's own role. The bot keeps its access to the room."
- The bot itself: "The bot keeps its own access to the room."
- Yourself, the owner: "The owner always has access to their room."
Good to know
- Permitting someone you rejected earlier lets them back in and replaces the remembered reject with a permit.
- When a server manager runs the command on someone else's room, the permit is remembered on the room owner's list, not the manager's.
- /voice unpermit forgets one permit; /voice prefs clear:True forgets all of them together with your other preferences.
- The panel's Permit button opens a picker with the prompt "Who may always join?"
