Locks the room you are in so nobody new can connect. Run it from inside your own Join-to-Create room. The bot first checks that the service is turned on for this server, that you are in a voice channel the service created, and that you own it. A member with Manage Channels or Administrator on the server can lock any room.
In Discord, the bot denies Connect for @everyone on the room. Any role that has its own Connect allow on the room (an allowlisted role, or one the category granted) is denied Connect as well, except roles you have permitted. The room remembers exactly which roles it changed so that /voice unlock puts back only those. Your own owner permissions, the bot's access and the entries of members you permitted are not touched.
You see a private reply: "🔒 Room locked. Nobody new can join." The bot may show as thinking for a few seconds first while it writes the permissions. Your control panel updates to show the room as locked, and its Lock button becomes Unlock.
Good to know
- Nobody is removed. People already in the room stay; the lock only stops new arrivals.
- Lock does not hide the room. /voice hide is the separate switch for visibility, and the two can be combined.
- /voice permit lets a specific member or role in while the room stays locked.
- A room can start locked: a lobby's Start locked setting, or your own /voice prefs locked:True.
- Outside a room the bot answers "Join your Join-to-Create room first. This only works from inside one." In a room someone else owns: "Only the room's owner can do that. If they left, use
/voice claim."
