How we checked How we checked these facts: everything this page says about GiveawayBot comes from GiveawayBot's own public pages, not hands-on testing. We compare stable structural facts only and leave anything we could not verify blank. Last verified 2026-10-12.

GiveawayBot is an open-source bot built for giveaways, and the most used bot of its kind by published server counts. It runs on slash commands: /gstart with a time, a number of winners and a prize starts a giveaway in the current channel, and /gcreate walks you through the setup. Members enter with a button on the post. /gend ends a giveaway early and picks its winners, /gdelete removes one without a draw, /glist lists the running ones and /greroll, or Apps > Reroll Giveaway on an ended giveaway, picks a new winner. A summary button on an ended giveaway shows a summary of it, and /gsettings sets the embed colour and the emoji or text on the entry button. Its site calls it simple and free to use, with little to no setup, and has a Get Premium button. Its source code is public on GitHub.

YourBot is one bot whose features are services. Ten are built in and run free on every server, and Giveaways is the one that covers GiveawayBot's ground. The other nine include Sentinel moderation, Tickets and Analytics. Premium, billed per server, adds a bot under your own name, the open marketplace and the Plugin Builder.

The short version

  • Pick GiveawayBot if you want a giveaway running from one command with little to no setup, from a bot whose source code is public.
  • Pick YourBot if you want several prizes with their own winners in one giveaway and entry by reaction as well as by button, in the same bot as moderation and the other services.
  • If you run both for a while, run each giveaway in only one of them, so members never enter for the same prize twice.

Starting a giveaway

GiveawayBot starts giveaways from Discord. /gstart takes the time, the number of winners and the prize in one line and posts the giveaway in the current channel, and /gcreate asks for them step by step. Giveaways builds a giveaway on the web in four steps (what you give away, when and where, how people enter and anything else) with the post shown beside the form as Discord will show it. A giveaway can post right away, at a time you set or stay a draft. It can repeat every day, week or month. It can also start from a saved template or one of three quick starts. From Discord, /giveaway create posts one in the channel it is typed in.

Entering and winning

GiveawayBot's members enter with a button on the post, whose emoji or text you set with /gsettings, and the bot picks the number of winners you gave. With Giveaways, members enter with a button, a reaction or either one, and everyone counts once however they enter. In first come, first served mode the first clicks win on the spot, with no draw. A giveaway holds up to 20 prizes, each with its own text and up to 100 winners. The bot can hand each winner the next unused key, code or link in a DM, give winners a role and ask them to confirm their prize within a time you set.

Rules for who can enter cover account age, time in the server, roles to have or not have and a number of messages counted by the Analytics service. Boosters and roles you pick can get extra chances, and blocked members never enter or win. Winners are drawn from the operating system's random source, a winner who has left the server or is blocked is replaced and past winners can sit out for up to a year.

After the draw

GiveawayBot's /gend ends a giveaway early and picks its winners, /gdelete deletes one without picking winners and /greroll, or Apps > Reroll Giveaway on the ended post, picks a new winner. A summary button on an ended giveaway shows a summary of it. Giveaways draws at the end time, posts the results and sends every winner a DM. /giveaway end ends one early and /giveaway cancel stops one without a draw. You can draw again for 30 minutes after the draw unless you turned that off. A Watch live page, on unless you switch it off, shows who is in and plays the draw, and History and Insights keep every past giveaway with its numbers.

Switching

Let GiveawayBot's running giveaways end, or end them with /gend, before you start the next ones in Giveaways, so members never have two giveaways to enter for one prize. Run setup on the Giveaways Settings page: it keeps the giveaway channel you picked or uses #giveaways, making it when there is none, and looks for a role that may run giveaways from Discord. Then build the next giveaway in the builder or post it with /giveaway create, and save it as a template to start the ones after it. Pricing has the current terms, and the giveaway bots table sets Giveaways beside MEE6, GiveawayBot and Invite Tracker.

Frequently asked questions

Is GiveawayBot free?

Its site calls it simple and free to use, with little to no setup, and has a Get Premium button. Its source code is public on GitHub.

Can YourBot's Giveaways replace GiveawayBot?

Giveaways covers the same jobs: a giveaway started from Discord with `/giveaway create`, entry by button, ending early, cancelling, listing and drawing again. It also builds giveaways on the web with a preview and runs free on the shared bot, so you can use it beside GiveawayBot while you move.

Can members enter a YourBot giveaway with a reaction?

Yes. A giveaway can take entries from Enter and Leave buttons, from a reaction with the emoji you pick or from either one. Everyone counts once however they enter.
