Ends a running giveaway now instead of waiting for its end time, and draws the winners. giveaway_id autocompletes with this server's running giveaways, labelled by number, title, and status. You need Manage Server, Administrator, or the giveaway host role ("You need Manage Server or the giveaway host role to do that.").
The giveaway must belong to this server ("Giveaway not found.") and must be running. Anything else is refused, for example "Giveaway is completed, cannot end."
The draw is random and weighted: a member with bonus entries has that many chances. Left out of the pool are members whose entry was disqualified, anyone who won a giveaway in this server inside the recent-winner window, and, when the giveaway uses referral entries with a minimum, entrants below that minimum. Each pick is checked against the server's member list, so someone who has left is skipped and another name is drawn. The top prize is filled first, then the lower tiers. The public spectator page plays the reveal from the lowest tier up.
If there are fewer eligible entrants than winners to pick, nothing is drawn. The giveaway is cancelled, its post switches to the cancelled state, a "Not enough entries" notice is posted in the channel, and you see "⚠️ Not enough entries to run this giveaway. Needed 3, only 1 eligible. Giveaway was cancelled."
On success you see "✅ Draw complete." The original post is deleted and a fresh results message takes its place, so the winner pings notify. It reads "Ended. 2 winners drawn from 40 entries." and lists the winners under each prize. Each winner also gets a DM headed "# 🎉 You won!" that names the prize, links the results page, and ends with "Reach out to @host (the host) to claim your prize." unless the host wrote a custom winner message. If the giveaway requires winner confirmation (a dashboard option), the DM carries a Confirm prize button and a deadline instead.
Good to know
- Ending a drop completes it with whoever has claimed a slot so far. No draw happens.
- Giveaways also end on their own when the timer runs out; the bot checks about every 30 seconds.
- If the giveaway has a winner role (a dashboard option), winners receive it at the draw, or when they confirm if confirmation is required.
- Use /giveaway reroll within 30 minutes of the draw to replace a winner, and /giveaway cancel to close a giveaway without picking anyone.
