How to Build and Run a GTA 6 Discord Community With YourBot

Build your GTA 6 Discord around reliable information, spoiler choices, useful conversations, and a clear member journey. YourBot can provide that foundation through Start Your Server, then run onboarding, moderation, tickets, events, group listings, temporary voice rooms, announcements, social feeds, analytics, and giveaways under one custom bot identity.

The goal is not a server full of empty channels labeled after features nobody has confirmed. It is a community that is useful before launch and remains organized when members begin playing at different speeds.

This guide follows Neon Harbor, a fictional 200-member GTA VI fan community. Its channel names, schedules, capacities, and policies are example choices, not YourBot defaults or Rockstar requirements. Use the AI-assisted setup first, or follow the manual service sections with your existing Discord layout.

Start With What Rockstar Has Actually Announced

Game information checked September 15, 2026: Rockstar currently schedules Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two's announcement and PlayStation's product FAQ describe a single-player experience. These facts shape the initial Discord design. See Rockstar's GTA VI page, the publisher announcement, and PlayStation's FAQ.

Build around this now Do not present this as confirmed GTA VI functionality
Official-news discussion and launch preparation An announced GTA VI multiplayer launch or session capacity
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S interests PC availability, cross-play, or cross-progression
Community conversations and post-launch story discussion Co-op campaign missions or transferable GTA Online crews
A Discord community with its own name and rules A hosted GTA VI roleplay server or game-account integration

The reviewed announcements do not establish the right-hand claims. Update the guide and your server when authoritative information changes, rather than treating speculation as a product specification.

Also distinguish GTA Online associated with GTA V from GTA VI. FiveM describes its framework as a GTA V multiplayer modification. Running a GTA-themed Discord, running a FiveM game server, and using YourBot are different activities.

Define the Community Before Creating Channels

Neon Harbor serves three audiences: people following official announcements, people preparing to play on console, and members who will discuss their experiences after release. Some want to see every trailer; others want only release and support information.

Its promise is simple: useful launch information without forced spoilers, with friendly places to meet other fans.

Put that promise in the welcome message. Identify the community as independently operated, not official Rockstar support. Use your own community branding and explain what moderators can actually help with.

Separate three kinds of roles:

Role group Example roles Purpose
Access Community Member, Official Media, Story Access Control what people can see
Interests and notifications PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC Interested, Event Alerts Express preferences without proving ownership or compatibility
Responsibility Moderator, News Curator, Event Host Identify the people authorized to manage community work

A PC Interested role welcomes people following the game; it is not a PC-release announcement. A platform role is self-reported. A verification button does not authenticate a Rockstar account, age, or purchase.

Make staff roles manually assigned. Keep any future community crew membership separate from public interest selection.

Use Start Your Server to Build the Foundation

Sign in to YourBot with the Discord account that owns your server and select that server. Follow the custom-bot connection flow to use your community's chosen name and avatar; keep its token private and enter it only through the appropriate dashboard setup. Confirm the bot has joined the intended server. Review current platform pricing, AI usage estimates, and any separately priced marketplace plugins before approving purchases.

The Start Your Server guide documents owner-only access, the building as bot indicator, visual planning, and approval before changes. Give that bot the required channel and role permissions, with its role above the roles it must manage. Administrator permission is not a substitute for correct role hierarchy.

Copy-ready GTA 6 community prompt

Create a Discord layout for Neon Harbor, an independent 200-member
GTA VI fan and launch community. We are not Rockstar support, a game
server host, or a provider of beta access.

Newcomers should see welcome, rules, verification, and community help.
After verification, give Community Member access to spoiler-safe general
chat, introductions, console help, and community events.

Create optional PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC Interested, and Event Alerts roles.
Keep these as interests, not proof of game ownership or staff permissions.

Separate text-only news and release information from official trailer
and screenshot discussion. Make Official Media an explicit opt-in role.
Prepare a Story Access category for post-launch use, but keep it staff-only
until we deliberately open it. Do not put plot details in channel names.

Create a permanent spoiler-safe lounge and a join-to-create conversation
lobby. Add private staff, news-review, application-review, ticket-record,
and moderation-log channels.

Prepare supported settings for Welcome, Sentinel, Tickets, Beacon Events,
Group Finder, Join-to-Create Voice, Analytics, and Giveaways. Enable
Announcements and Social Feeds for manual schedule and source setup.

Do not create fictional GTA VI heist, multiplayer, cross-play, economy,
or roleplay integrations. Keep existing channels and roles, and propose
no deletions during the first build.

Keep the first layout compact

These are proposed spaces, not promises that the builder configures every future event or workflow. Small servers can merge introductions into general chat and add specialized channels only when needed.

Review Channels, Roles, and Services, then use See it as for a newcomer, Community Member, media participant, and moderator. Resolve safety warnings, inspect the itemized build checklist, and leave deletions unselected. Download the snapshot after building. Structural undo cannot recover deleted message history.

Finish configuration manually: Start Your Server can enable Announcements and Social Feeds, but you create the actual schedules and source subscriptions afterward. Likewise, enabling Beacon or Giveaways does not publish a finished event or prize draw.

Manual Setup: Give Each Service a Clear Job

YourBot's ten built-in services can be configured independently. The table below is Neon Harbor's operating plan, not a requirement to activate everything on day one.

Service Its job in this community
Welcome Membership access, interests, and spoiler choices
Sentinel Spam and scam controls, cases, reports, and moderation
Tickets Private help, conduct reports, and volunteer applications
Beacon Events Scheduled community sessions and reminders
Group Finder Small discussion groups and accurately labeled meetups
Join-to-Create Voice Conversation rooms that appear when needed
Announcements Maintained schedules, policies, and release-preparation notices
Social Feeds Selected source updates delivered for review
Analytics Discord participation and onboarding health
Giveaways Optional, honestly described community celebrations

For the manual path, open Plugins, enable the service you are configuring, and open its dedicated dashboard. If Start Your Server already prepared it, inspect the saved settings rather than running another setup wizard blindly.

Check posting access in the target channels, role hierarchy for role automation, channel-management permissions for applicable ticket and voice workflows, and Move Members for moving someone out of the voice lobby. Grant moderation actions only where they are intended. Each section ends with a launch test; these are checks for your team to perform.

1. Welcome: Make Spoiler Choice Part of Onboarding

Open Welcome → Settings. Choose #welcome, write a short greeting, and point newcomers to rules, verification, and role selection. A useful message is:

Welcome to Neon Harbor, an independent GTA VI community.

Read #rules-and-access, complete verification, and choose your interests
in #choose-roles. General chat stays spoiler-safe. Official trailers and
screenshots have a separate opt-in area. Story channels open only after
release and require another deliberate opt-in.

Our staff will never ask for passwords, login codes, or game keys.

In Verification Gate, enable verification, choose #rules-and-access, and set Verified Role to Community Member. Save the settings, then use Post / Update message to publish the button. Posting and saving are separate actions.

Next, create role menus for platform interests and Event Alerts. Offer Official Media separately with a clear description that official promotional material may reveal locations, scenes, or characters. Keep Story Access unavailable during the pre-launch phase.

Do not assume that allowing both Community Member and Story Access on a channel requires both roles. Discord combines role permissions; inspect the effective result and test real role combinations. When withdrawing community access, remove any additional access roles that would still expose restricted channels.

Welcome's optional Buddy System can pair newcomers with volunteers from a Buddy Pool Role. Use it only with a staffed pool. Do not depend on DMs for essential instructions because members can disable them.

Test: A newcomer can reach verification; a normal member cannot see media or story channels without opting in; removing optional access hides the corresponding area again.

2. Sentinel: Prepare for Scams Without Punishing Normal Excitement

A GTA launch community needs more than a banned-word list. Huntress has documented malware distributed as fake GTA VI downloads, making download claims and suspicious attachments a concrete moderation concern.

Open Sentinel, select the private log destination and actual moderator roles, and inspect the starter rules. The setup supports protection presets and initially installing rules in log-only mode. Observe matches before enabling punishment.

Configure the controls relevant to your rules: repetitive spam, mass mentions, suspicious links, unwanted invites, and prohibited attachment types where supported. A public news channel should permit posting only by designated staff and the necessary bot, not by everyone with a platform role.

Avoid a blanket punishment for words such as “PC,” “beta,” or “download.” Members may be discussing official information or warning others about a scam. Test complete examples and review context before escalating a response.

Publish a clear rule against credential requests, account sales, cheat distribution, fake access offers, and unsolicited promotional DMs. Give members a private reporting route. A bot cannot guarantee detection of every scam or understand every plot spoiler, so keep human moderation and Discord's native safeguards in the plan.

Assign a moderator to watch expected announcement surges. A burst of legitimate joins after news is not automatically a raid. Review emergency actions and how to reverse them before the busy period.

Test: Legitimate Rockstar links and ordinary discussion pass; safe test spam produces the expected log; only the intended system applies a warning or timeout.

3. Tickets: Separate Community Help From Game-Account Support

Open Tickets and create a staff team for community support. Configure a private record destination, then publish a small panel in #community-help.

Start with two routes: Community Help and Report a Member or Suspicious Message. Use Private Channel mode for conversations that need follow-up. Attach a short intake form asking what happened, where it happened, and which message link is relevant.

State that these tickets reach community volunteers. Account recovery, purchases, and game-code problems belong with the appropriate official provider. Staff should not request a password, authenticator code, recovery code, government ID, or unredacted receipt.

For an optional volunteer or community-crew application, create a separate form and panel. Under Behavior → Channel Mode, choose Form (review queue — no channel) and set Review Channel to #application-review. Under Routing, choose the staff team and intake form.

An application can ask about interests, availability, platform, and agreement with the rules. Leave Role granted on Accept blank initially, or choose a deliberately limited community role. Acceptance is not enrollment in an in-game Rockstar Crew, access to unreleased multiplayer, or verified game ownership.

Use a realistic response target. Assign one person to each request and decide how long records are useful. A closed ticket should not become a publicly shared transcript.

Test: An unrelated member cannot view the ticket, review queue, or record; the assigned team can respond; acceptance grants only the configured role.

4. Beacon Events: Schedule the Community, Not Imaginary Multiplayer

Open Beacon Events and create a blank event or adapt a social template. In the editor, work through Event Info → Roles → Design → Actions → Finish.

The generic event defaults may suit an MMO. Change Category to Social or Meeting, clear irrelevant tank/healer choices, and use an Attending signup option. Set Max Participants separately; changing a role option is not the same as changing overall capacity.

For a first event, use:

Setting Example value
Title Neon Harbor Launch-Prep Social
Category Social
Capacity 12 conversation participants
Description A one-hour chat about the announced platforms, community rules, and console voice setup; no unofficial footage
Reminders One hour and 15 minutes before the meeting
Location Community Lounge

Twelve is the host's conversational limit, not a GTA VI player limit. The reviewed Date & Time field uses the organizer's browser-local time before conversion. Confirm the published timestamp from a second time zone.

Use an established voice room for the first session, leaving automatic event voice creation off. This avoids creating another room alongside the permanent lounge or join-to-create service.

Useful later events include an official-media discussion, a spoiler-safe first-week check-in, or an opt-in story conversation after launch. Keep plot details out of public titles. Link the relevant official video so attendees can watch it themselves rather than assuming a community signup grants broadcast rights.

Test: Join, leave, fill the event, inspect its waitlist, and verify a reminder. Explain that signing up reserves a community-event place, not a game lobby or early unlock.

5. Group Finder: Use Honest Templates for Small Meetups

Group Finder can coordinate smaller gatherings, including discussions that do not involve multiplayer. For this server, its first job is finding people for a short, spoiler-safe conversation.

Open its settings, choose #meetup-listings, and create a custom template. Do not assume the game-detection wizard supplies a GTA VI preset. Remove unrelated MMO templates and tags from the member-facing workflow.

A sensible starting template is GTA VI Community Chat with six places, no combat-role slots, and an explicit description: “Discord conversation only; this is not a GTA VI multiplayer session.” Set a short expiry and choose a joining policy suited to your community.

For Neon Harbor, suggested settings are two active listings per organizer, a two-hour default expiry, and a 60-second creation cooldown. These are administrative choices. Change the experience labels to useful conversation styles such as Newcomer Friendly, Casual, and Creator Discussion.

Distinguish Require Listing Approval, where staff approve a new listing, from a listing's Join Mode, where the organizer approves an applicant. They solve different problems.

Begin with local discovery. Still write titles and descriptions that are safe for public viewing: web pages, sharing, and discovery settings require their own visibility review. Do not place story details, private links, or contact information in a listing merely because its Discord channel is restricted.

An existing community can separately offer GTA Online (GTA V) activities. Name the actual game, platform, and version in the title and instructions. The reviewed Platform field uses broad categories such as Console and PC; it is not a detailed PS5/Xbox compatibility check.

Test: Create, join, leave, fill, and close a listing. Inspect the member-facing post and web view, not just the administrator's form.

6. Join-to-Create Voice: Make Console-Friendly Conversation Rooms

Open Join-to-Create Voice Channels. Select the Create a Conversation Room voice lobby and its destination category.

Set Channel Name Template to Lounge — {display_name}, Default User Limit to six, and leave Delete when empty enabled. Use a modest bitrate appropriate to members' connections and the server's available limits. A conversation-room cap is independent of any game's party size.

Choose Inherit from category when the category already has the intended Community Member access. A Custom role allowlist is another option, but multiple allowed roles are alternatives, not a requirement to hold every selected role.

Review creator ownership and any room-control panel available in your dashboard. Start with owner permission editing disabled unless the community has a clear reason to allow it. Test the controls members actually receive; a hidden or locked room is not automatically protected against every unwanted participant.

Keep Story Voice separate and explicitly role-restricted. Do not let a member casually rename a general room into a spoiler conversation while unaware participants are still inside.

Explain console joining clearly

On PS5, members can link their accounts and choose Discord voice through Game Base → Discord. Xbox also supports linked-account Discord voice. Put the official PlayStation connection instructions and Xbox connection instructions in #console-help.

Ask members to complete verification, role selection, forms, and signups in the Discord app or browser. Do not assume console voice provides the same interface for every bot button.

Discord voice across devices is not GTA VI cross-play.

Test: Have a PS5 or Xbox volunteer join the lobby, follow the move into the created room, and reconnect if needed. Confirm permitted access and cleanup after the final person leaves.

7. Announcements: Maintain a Schedule Without Inventing an Unlock Time

Open Announcements and create a weekly community-plan post. Set an Internal label, choose #events, write the actual Message, and select Weekly recurrence with the appropriate weekday and time.

The internal label stays in the dashboard; it is not the published title. Use a named Timezone, such as America/New_York, rather than assuming every member or moderator shares the same clock. Set an end date or occurrence limit for temporary launch campaigns.

Keep Allow @everyone / @here off for routine updates. Use Event Alerts only when a notification is genuinely useful. Let Beacon own individual event reminders instead of reproducing them through a second schedule.

A separate release-preparation post should distinguish three clocks: preload availability, game access, and the community's own gathering. The current publisher announcement describes preload beginning November 12 and launch on November 19. Preloading is not permission to play early.

Do not publish one universal midnight countdown without checking the relevant platform and region. YourBot will send what you schedule; a message does not automatically update when Rockstar changes a date or a storefront clarifies an unlock time.

Test: Schedule a harmless staff-only message, inspect its time and mentions, then publish the real schedule. Assign a person to recheck every date-dependent post.

8. Social Feeds: Create a News Desk, Not a Rumor Conveyor

Configure Social Feeds manually after the server build. This service can deliver chosen source updates, but the source and destination determine whether it improves trust or simply accelerates noise.

The catalog entry named GTA V / Online is not a GTA VI feed. It uses the existing GTA V Steam news source. Do not rename it to GTA 6 and present the result as official coverage of the new game.

For Rockstar video updates, choose the YouTube source and obtain the official channel link through Rockstar's own website. The reviewed adapter accepts a channel ID, handle, or channel URL and resolves it to the channel feed.

Use these starting settings:

Field Example choice
Source YouTube
YouTube channel Rockstar's official channel, reached from its site
Display name Rockstar Games — Videos for Review
Destination #news-review
Ping role None
Poll interval Retain the source recommendation; the reviewed YouTube default is 900 seconds
Include/exclude filters Leave blank initially in the staff queue

This polls uploads; it is not an instant-news guarantee or a complete copy of Rockstar's Newswire. It may include other Rockstar titles.

After observing the feed, optional keyword filters can reduce noise. Inclusion accepts matching terms; exclusion can block a matching item. Neither authenticates a claim, and an overly narrow “GTA 6” filter could miss an upload using “Grand Theft Auto VI.”

A curator should check the original source, record when it was checked, and publish a short text summary in #news-and-status. Put screenshots, trailers, and revealing embeds in Official Media, not the general news channel. This human review is a community procedure, not an automatic Social Feeds approval feature.

Test: Verify the saved channel identity, destination, and notification formatting. Confirm that no automated media reaches the spoiler-safe audience. Do not assume subscribing guarantees an immediate historical repost.

9. Analytics: Measure the Discord Experience, Not Game Progress

Open Analytics and review Exclude Bots, Timezone, Data Retention, and Excluded Channels.

For Neon Harbor, exclude staff discussion, news review, ticket records, application review, and automated-feed destinations from the intended community-activity baseline. Review newly created private ticket channels too; excluding one existing channel is not a blanket policy for every future channel.

Limit dashboard access to staff who need it. Explain the purpose of tracking and retain only what the community needs. Review optional Starboard and automatic reposting features before enabling them; otherwise, a popular image from a restricted discussion might reach an unintended audience.

Use weekly comparisons to answer practical questions: Are newcomers posting after verification? Are event participants returning? Is a discussion channel too fragmented? Are people moving from text into voice?

After release, a quiet evening can mean members are playing rather than abandoning the community. Read changes alongside launch dates, time zones, moderation actions, and event schedules.

Activity roles should remain cosmetic or low-risk. Never automatically award moderator authority, Story Access, or “Verified Game Owner” because someone accumulated messages or voice time.

Test: Generate ordinary activity in an included channel and in a deliberately excluded test channel. Check the resulting view. These statistics are not GTA VI playtime, missions completed, achievements, or purchase verification.

10. Giveaways: Celebrate Without Promising Access You Cannot Supply

Giveaways are optional, not the main reason to join. A community with helpful discussions and reliable information is worth returning to between prize draws.

For a modest first celebration, arrange a real prize such as an original commissioned community-avatar illustration, with delivery permission and a named organizer. Avoid fictional beta keys, unreleased access, guaranteed RP places, or benefits you do not control.

Open Giveaways and configure the Title, Description, destination Channel, Schedule, and Prize tiers. Explain eligibility, what the winner receives, who delivers it, and the response deadline before entries open.

Under Requirements & weighting, use membership or account-age restrictions only when they serve a stated purpose. Keep booster and role-weight bonuses at zero for an equal-entry example. Do not make payment a condition of this community draw.

Dates in the editor use the displayed server time zone. Review it rather than assuming it matches Beacon's browser-local input. Keep sensitive entrant information and spoilers out of any spectator page.

The bot can manage the draw; the host remains responsible for the prize. A Discord giveaway does not grant a Rockstar entitlement.

Test: Run a clearly labeled staff test with a harmless prize. Check entry, eligibility, end time, result, and the delivery procedure before announcing the public event.

Build a Custom Launch Facts and Corrections Board

Start with the built-ins. Tickets can already collect questions or suggestions through a form-only review queue, while Announcements can publish the approved answer. Check the marketplace before commissioning another feature.

A custom plugin becomes worthwhile when you need something more specific: one maintained launch-information record, a review history, stale-fact warnings, and corrections that update the original community answer instead of leaving several contradictory posts.

The following is a proposed Plugin Builder project, not an existing built-in GTA VI integration.

Copy-ready Plugin Builder specification

Build a Launch Facts and Corrections Board for our GTA VI Discord community.

Members submit a question or suggested factual update through a form.
Capture the proposed statement, original source URL, source publication
date when known, and a short explanation. Do not accept attachments,
passwords, account identifiers, game keys, or purchase documents.

Only configured News Curator or Moderator roles can approve, reject,
correct, or supersede a record. Store each record's status, reviewer,
checked-at time, review-due time, and prior approved versions per server.

Provide an administrator dashboard and a /launch-info command that shows
only current approved facts with their source and last-checked date.
Flag overdue records when displayed; never silently treat an expired
statement as current. A named publisher or an allowed domain is not proof
that the proposed statement is accurate.

Keep submissions, rejected records, and staff notes private. Public
answers must be text-first and exclude plot details and image previews.
Update the configured public answer message when an approved fact changes,
and preserve a correction history for staff. Prevent duplicate actions.

Version one must not fetch external sites or contact a game API. Staff
review the submitted links themselves. Store URLs as references, not
instructions. Use only necessary Discord and platform-storage capabilities.

Handle missing permissions, deleted messages, failed DMs, and repeated
button presses. Provide deletion controls and a configurable retention
policy for submissions and private notes.

Open the AI Plugin Builder, review its plan before generating, and inspect the source, manifest, and requested capabilities. Check the displayed build budget and credit estimate. A validator checks code structure, not whether Rockstar actually confirmed a feature.

Test a temporary installation with synthetic submissions. Confirm that an ordinary member cannot approve a record, an overdue fact is labeled, a correction changes the intended answer, and rejected submissions stay private. Current development installs expire after 24 hours and allow up to three active tests; do not treat them as the permanent installation path.

A developer can refine the same plugin using the YourBot SDK. Follow the normal installation and publication process appropriate to its intended audience. No part of this project requires a GTA executable, Rockstar password, or game-server resource.

Open the Community in Phases

Before launch: prove the basics

Start with Welcome, Sentinel, Tickets, a small Beacon event, and the reviewed news workflow. Add temporary voice and Group Finder when volunteers can test them. Giveaways can wait.

Invite a pilot group using different devices. Walk one member through verification, platform selection, a console voice session, a private report, and an event signup. Keep Story Access unavailable.

Publish a simple source policy: confirmed news links to an original announcement; speculation is explicitly labeled; unofficial downloads and leaked files are not distributed. List the staff members responsible for corrections and busy announcement windows.

Release week: protect different play speeds

Recheck the official date, regional access instructions, and scheduled messages. Staff the expected busy periods rather than relying on increased punishments alone.

Open story areas only after deliberately reviewing access. Explain that Story Access permits spoilers, while general chat remains protected. Avoid revealing channel names, event titles, reaction jokes, thumbnails, and notification text outside that area.

Discord supports spoiler tags and marked attachments, but a spoiler marker is not a substitute for a clearly separated audience. Prohibit leaks even inside a story channel when that is your community policy.

After launch: expand from actual demand

Review which conversations return each week. Add a focused help channel or creator activity only when it earns its place. Do not open ten speculative multiplayer categories because another server did.

When Rockstar announces a new platform or online feature, update the fact board first. Then verify the actual activity format before changing group templates, access roles, and event descriptions. The advantage of YourBot is that the existing community can evolve without rebuilding the entire bot setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I start a GTA 6 Discord before the game releases?

Yes. Build around official information, spoiler preferences, console help, social sessions, and community support. YourBot provides the Discord workflows without requiring an in-game integration.

Can YourBot host a GTA VI multiplayer or roleplay server?

This guide describes a Discord bot platform, not a GTA VI game-server host. FiveM's published framework is for GTA V. Treat any future GTA VI server support as a separate matter requiring its own verified announcement and implementation.

Does Group Finder make GTA 6 multiplayer?

No. It organizes people and listings in Discord. In this guide, its initial use is small community conversations. Any existing GTA Online activity must be clearly labeled as the actual game being played.

Can PS5 and Xbox members share Discord voice?

Discord supports voice connections on those console families through its account-linking workflows. That does not establish game cross-play, and members may still need the Discord app or browser for verification, menus, and forms.

Does a Discord verification role prove age or game ownership?

No. The Welcome verification flow grants the configured Discord role after the interaction. Use accurate role names and do not present it as identity, age, platform-account, or purchase verification.

Will Start Your Server configure everything automatically?

It can build the layout and prepare supported service settings. Staff still create schedules, subscriptions, events, forms, and other workflow-specific content, then test them. Generated configuration is a starting point, not a substitute for approval.

Build a Community People Can Trust

A strong GTA 6 Discord does not need invented features to be useful. It needs a clear front door, dependable information, deliberate spoiler choices, practical console voice help, and moderators with workable tools.

Use Start Your Server for the foundation, complete the ten services according to real demand, and use Plugin Builder when a specific community workflow justifies custom development. YourBot supplies one consistent bot and administration platform while your team decides what the community should become.
