Runs the one-click setup wizard, the same one behind the dashboard's Group Finder Setup page. Discord shows the command to everyone, but only members with Manage Server can run it. Anyone else gets You need **Manage Server** permission to run setup.
If the server already has both a listing channel and a forum channel set, nothing runs. The reply is a card titled Already Configured that names both channels and points to /group-admin settings. If only one of the two is set, setup runs again and reuses any channel it finds by name.
The wizard first checks that the bot has Manage Channels. Without it, setup stops before changing anything and tells you to grant the permission and run it again. It then scans channel and role names for games it knows (WoW, FFXIV, GW2, ESO, Destiny, PoE, Diablo, Lost Ark, Throne and Liberty) and falls back to WoW and FFXIV tags when it finds none. Next it creates, or reuses when they already exist, a Group Finder category, a #lfg-listings text channel that everyone can read and only the bot posts in, and a #lfg-forum forum channel with one tag per detected game plus activity tags (Raid, Dungeon, PvP, Social, Arena) and difficulty tags (Fresh, Prog, Farm, Chill). The forum gets a "Welcome to LFG!" thread.
After the channels exist the wizard switches Group Finder on for the server, saves #lfg-listings as the listing channel and #lfg-forum as the forum channel, turns on Create forum threads, creates starter templates (game-specific ones for detected WoW, FFXIV and GW2, plus a generic Quick Group), and posts a welcome card in #lfg-listings. Rerunning never duplicates a template that already exists.
Progress streams into your private reply as a list of steps, each with a check mark or a cross. The final card is titled Group Finder is Ready! and lists /group create and /group browse under "Try it now". Read the step lines: a cross means that step failed and the card's title does not say so.
Good to know
- The command does not check whether Group Finder is switched on for the server; switching it on is one of its steps.
- Only one setup can run per server at a time. A second run while one is in progress reports that setup is already running.
- You do not have to run setup to use Group Finder. The first
/group createon a server with no listing channel adopts the channel it was typed in.
