Updated September 2026
A good League of Legends Discord should help players find the right queue, assemble a five-player team, organize Ranked 5s or Clash, schedule coaching and scrims, follow patches, and separate casual community activity from competitive team operations. YourBot can create that structure with Start Your Server, then handle the recurring Discord workflows through its ten built-in services.
League of Legends is a 5v5 MOBA built around Summoner’s Rift, but a modern League community is broader than one ranked queue. Members may play Solo/Duo, Flex, the returning Ranked 5s queue, ARAM, ARAM: Mayhem, Classic, custom games, Clash, or rotating modes. Some follow esports more than they play. Some are new players who have not even unlocked Ranked yet.
That makes Discord useful—but only if the server distinguishes player position, champion class, queue type, region, and team membership instead of mixing them together.
This guide builds a fictional general League community, then shows how to configure all ten YourBot services around real League workflows.
Editorial disclosure: This guide is published by YourBot.gg. League of Legends facts are based on current Riot Games and League of Legends support material. YourBot-specific behavior is based on current product behavior and read-only repository review. League is a live-service game, so queues, patch cadence, Ranked rules, Clash schedules, Team Voice availability, and rotating modes should be rechecked after major updates.
First: League of Legends, Wild Rift, and TFT Are Not the Same Community Problem
Before building roles or LFG channels, decide what your Discord actually supports.
League of Legends
This guide targets League of Legends on Windows and macOS.
Riot’s 2026 system-requirement documentation currently supports Windows and macOS and does not provide native support for Linux, SteamOS, Bazzite, or similar operating systems.
The main League community workflows are:
- Summoner’s Rift
- Ranked Solo/Duo
- Ranked Flex
- Ranked 5s
- ARAM
- ARAM: Mayhem
- rotating modes
- Clash
- custom games
- esports
Wild Rift
League of Legends: Wild Rift is a separate game.
Riot describes Wild Rift as a 5v5 MOBA designed for mobile, with its own matchmaking, mechanics, models, animation, progression, inventory, skins, and ranked systems.
Do not use a League PC LFG listing for Wild Rift.
If your Discord supports both games, create a separate @Wild Rift role and separate LFG templates.
Teamfight Tactics
TFT appears in the League client ecosystem and on Riot’s League homepage, but it is an autobattler rather than Summoner’s Rift League.
A community can share a Discord, but TFT does not use:
- Top / Jungle / Mid / Bot / Support team formation
- five-player Summoner’s Rift group composition
- League Ranked 5s
- League Clash rosters
If TFT becomes a major part of the server, give it its own role and small channel area instead of forcing it into League LFG.
What Makes a League Discord Different?
The most important distinction is between positions and champion classes.
Summoner’s Rift positions
For Discord team formation, the useful roles are:
- Top
- Jungle
- Mid
- Bot
- Support
- Fill
These describe where a player normally queues.
Champion classes
Riot’s champion catalog also uses classes such as:
- Assassins
- Fighters
- Mages
- Marksmen
- Supports
- Tanks
Those describe champion play styles.
They are not the same thing as Summoner’s Rift positions.
A Mage may play Mid, Support, or sometimes another role. A Tank may appear Top, Jungle, or Support.
For LFG, use positions.
For discussion, champion classes can be optional tags.
Current League Context in September 2026
As of publication:
- Patch 26.18 is live.
- Riot’s official homepage still describes Summoner’s Rift as 5v5.
- ARAM remains a 5v5 mode.
- ARAM: Mayhem is active.
- League Classic is active in its 2026 rollout.
- The second 2026 run of Ranked 5s begins with Patch 26.18.
- Riot says that Ranked 5s will run again from September through December.
- Riot plans to begin expanding Team Voice in Patch 26.20, starting with NA and Oceania.
- Worlds 2026 begins October 15, with the Final scheduled for November 14.
This is exactly why the Discord should not be redesigned around one patch.
Build around stable workflows:
- find teammates,
- form teams,
- schedule practice,
- coach players,
- discuss updates,
- organize watch parties.
The Community We Will Build
This guide uses a fictional League community called Nexus Commons [NXC].
Nexus Commons has about 350 Discord members and includes:
- new players,
- casual Summoner’s Rift players,
- Ranked Solo/Duo players,
- Flex groups,
- Ranked 5s groups,
- ARAM players,
- Clash teams,
- community scrim teams,
- coaches,
- esports fans.
The community spans several Riot regions, but it does not pretend players on different server regions can always queue together.
YourBot Services We Will Use
| YourBot service | League use |
|---|---|
| Welcome | Region, position, queue, new-player, and esports roles |
| Sentinel | Spam, phishing, account-sale ads, boosting ads, harassment, raid protection |
| Tickets | Team applications, coaching requests, reports, appeals, tournament registration |
| Beacon Events | Ranked 5s nights, Clash, scrims, coaching, customs, Worlds watch parties |
| Group Finder | Solo/Duo partner search, Flex groups, five-stacks, ARAM groups |
| Join-to-Create Voice | Temporary team, coaching, and watch-party rooms |
| Announcements | Weekly community schedule, Ranked 5s reminders, event notices |
| Social Feeds | Dedicated Riot League patch-note feed |
| Analytics | Discord participation, retention, voice activity, channel health |
| Giveaways | Optional community prizes and esports events |
Step 1: Build the Foundation With Start Your Server
Start Your Server can create or reorganize channels, roles, permission overwrites, starter content, and supported YourBot service settings.
For an existing League Discord, keep the first build add-only. Do not delete old LFG or team channels until normal members have tested the replacement.
Copy-ready Start Your Server prompt
Create or reorganize this Discord server for a 350-member League of Legends
community called Nexus Commons.
This server primarily supports League of Legends on PC/Mac.
Wild Rift and Teamfight Tactics are separate games/modes and should not be
mixed into normal Summoner's Rift LFG unless we explicitly add separate roles.
Create onboarding with:
- welcome
- rules
- verification
- Riot region/community region roles
- Summoner's Rift position interests
- queue interests
- new-player / coaching interests
- esports notification roles
Position interests:
Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot, Support, Fill
Queue interests:
Solo/Duo, Flex, Ranked 5s, ARAM, Clash, Customs, Casual, Coaching
Treat position roles as preferences only. Do not treat them as locked team
assignments or proof of skill.
Create public areas for:
general chat, new-player help, positions/champions, builds and strategy,
patch notes, LFG, ARAM, ranked discussion, team recruitment, Clash,
Ranked 5s, customs, coaching, esports, and community events.
Create private staff areas for:
team applications, coaching applications, reports, moderation logs,
tournament administration, and event planning.
Configure Welcome, Tickets, Sentinel, Beacon Events, Group Finder,
Join-to-Create Voice, Analytics, Announcements, Giveaways, and Social Feeds.
Use Join-to-Create Voice for temporary five-stack, coaching, and casual rooms.
Do not create permanent channels for every champion, rank, patch, rotating
mode, or professional team.
If the Discord already exists, do not delete or rename the current live
structure during the first build. Stage the replacement beside it for testing.

Do not auto-grant staff permissions based on rank or position.
Step 2: Configure Welcome Around Region, Position, and Queue
Open Plugins → Welcome.
The best onboarding question is not “Who is your main?”
It is:
- Which Riot region do you play on?
- Which positions do you prefer?
- Which queues do you want to play?
- Are you new, competitive, or looking for coaching?
- Which notifications do you want?
Example welcome message
Welcome to Nexus Commons.
Choose your Riot region, preferred positions, and the queues you want to play.
Position roles are preferences, not permanent assignments.
Rank roles, if we use them, are not automatically verified.
Use #group-listings when you want teammates now.
Use #practice-schedule and #clash for organized team activity.
Region matters
League accounts belong to regional server environments.
Do not let @NA, @EUW, @EUNE, or another regional role become decorative.
Include region in:
- Group Finder templates,
- team applications,
- Clash recruitment,
- coaching listings.
A player in one region cannot necessarily join a team on another without account-region implications.
Optional Riot ↔ Discord account linking
Riot introduced expanded Discord account linking in 2026 for League.
Current Riot support says League players can link Riot and Discord accounts and use features such as richer presence and game invites where supported.
This is useful—but YourBot should not pretend that Discord account linking verifies:
- Ranked tier,
- role,
- match history,
- Clash eligibility,
- account ownership for staff purposes.
Treat it as a social convenience unless you build a separate supported verification workflow.
Step 3: Use Sentinel for Account Safety and Competitive Integrity
League communities attract scams that look game-specific:
- “RP giveaway” phishing
- fake skin pages
- account-sale offers
- boosting services
- malicious tournament links
- fake Riot login pages
- coaching scams
- impersonation
Use Sentinel to protect the Discord layer.
Rules worth reviewing
- suspicious URLs,
- duplicate spam,
- mention floods,
- unauthorized Discord invites,
- account-selling ads,
- boosting advertisements,
- phishing language,
- harassment,
- hate speech,
- raid behavior.
Start new automated rules in dry-run or log-only mode where appropriate.
Community rules should separate normal team play from manipulation
Do not treat:
- duoing,
- five-stacking,
- playing with higher-ranked friends,
- forming Flex teams
as inherently abusive.
Instead, prohibit things such as:
- account selling,
- account sharing,
- boosting-for-payment,
- deliberate rank manipulation,
- cheating,
- harassment,
- malicious links.
Riot remains responsible for game-account enforcement.
Step 4: Use Tickets for Teams, Coaching, and Reports
League communities usually need multiple structured intake workflows.
Team application
Ask:
Riot ID
Region
Preferred position(s)
Current rank (optional / self-reported)
Champion pool
Typical availability
Queues: Flex / Ranked 5s / Clash / Scrims
Competitive goals
Voice available?
Do not ask for Riot passwords or authentication credentials.
Coaching request
Ask:
Region
Rank
Preferred role
Champions played
What do you want help with?
VOD available?
Availability
A coach should never need the member’s Riot password.
Clash / team captain application
For communities that run internal teams, collect:
- region,
- captain,
- preferred roster,
- substitute needs,
- position gaps,
- practice schedule.
Actual Clash registration remains inside Riot’s client.
Member report
Create a private panel for:
- harassment,
- scams,
- staff issues,
- tournament disputes,
- malicious links.
Do not turn Discord reports into public callout threads.
Step 5: Use Beacon for Scheduled Competitive Activity
Beacon is ideal for League because many organized activities are time-specific.
Use it for:
- Ranked 5s windows
- Flex night
- Clash practice
- Clash tournament night
- community scrims
- VOD review
- position coaching
- new-player workshops
- custom 5v5s
- Worlds watch parties
Example: Ranked 5s night
Riot’s 2026 Ranked 5s experiment is especially Discord-friendly.
Riot describes Ranked 5s as:
- Summoner’s Rift,
- premade groups of five,
- individual ranks,
- flexible friend groups rather than a locked permanent team,
- wider rank mixing,
- set weekend availability,
- Tournament Draft.
The September 2026 second run begins with Patch 26.18 and runs through December.
Create:
Title: Ranked 5s — Saturday
Signup:
- Top
- Jungle
- Mid
- Bot
- Support
- Fill / Substitute
Set Max Participants separately based on how many five-player groups your community intends to organize.
Do not hard-code Riot’s queue window into a permanent weekly announcement. Riot has already adjusted the window and may continue doing so.
Check the current client or Riot announcement first.
Example: Clash practice
Title: Clash Team Practice
Signup:
- Starter
- Substitute
- Coach / Analyst
Use the description for:
- region,
- current team,
- map/strategy goals,
- start time,
- current Riot Clash schedule.
Example: Worlds watch party
Riot’s September dev update currently lists Worlds 2026 as beginning October 15 with the Final on November 14.
A Beacon event can handle:
- watch-party RSVP,
- voice room,
- reminder,
- discussion channel.
Step 6: Build League Templates in Group Finder
YourBot’s current Group Finder auto-detection list does not include League of Legends.
Create the templates manually.
Template 1: Solo/Duo partner
- Game:
League of Legends - Activity:
Ranked Solo/Duo - Party size:
2 - Region: include in description or custom labels
- Experience: broad rank band
- Join mode: Open or Request
- Expiry: 1–2 hours
Description:
Region: NA
Position: Jungle
Looking for: Mid / Support
Rank: self-reported Emerald
Voice: optional
Goal: serious games, no flaming
Template 2: Flex group
Use:
- Party size: organizer-selected up to the intended full group
- Position slots: Top / Jungle / Mid / Bot / Support
- Join mode: Request for serious groups
- Expiry: short
Template 3: Ranked 5s
Use:
- Party size: 5
- Position slots:
- Top 1
- Jungle 1
- Mid 1
- Bot 1
- Support 1
- Optional waitlist/substitute through the listing or a Beacon event.
This is a strong use of role slots because Summoner’s Rift positions have clear meaning.
Template 4: ARAM
- Party size: 5
- Roles: none required
- Experience:
Any - Join mode: Open
Do not impose Summoner’s Rift positions on ARAM.
Template 5: New-player group
Riot’s current support documentation says new accounts unlock modes progressively.
As of 2026:
- Swiftplay unlocks at level 3,
- ARAM at level 3,
- Practice Tool at level 9,
- Normal Draft at level 10,
- Ranked queues at level 30 plus champion/game requirements.
Create a beginner-friendly listing without assuming every new player has Ranked unlocked.
Rank labels
Use broad filters instead of dozens of roles.
For example:
New Player
Iron–Silver
Gold–Platinum
Emerald–Diamond
Master+
Any Rank
Competitive Team
If these are self-reported, say so.
Step 7: Use Join-to-Create Voice Even as Riot Expands Team Voice
Discord voice has long been useful to League teams.
Riot is now expanding its own voice plans.
The September 8, 2026 dev update says:
- the existing premade-party voice system remains,
- Riot is expanding voice so players can talk to their full team,
- the initial expansion is planned for NA and Oceania in Patch 26.20,
- access to speaking will be tied to Honor requirements,
- Riot will expand region-by-region when moderation support is ready.
As of this guide, Patch 26.20 is not yet live.
Do not tell members “League now has universal team voice.”
Why Discord still matters
Discord voice is useful for:
- premade teams,
- Ranked 5s,
- Clash,
- coaching,
- scrims,
- persistent teams,
- cross-game friends,
- watch parties,
- post-game review.
Recommended setup:
- Lobby:
➕ Create a Team Room - Category:
Temporary Teams - Name:
🎧 {display_name} - Delete when empty: enabled
- Creator owns room: enabled
- Auto-transfer ownership: enabled
- Owner panel: enabled
Keep permanent voice for:
- team practice,
- coaching,
- esports watch parties,
- staff.
Step 8: Use Announcements for Community Schedules
Start Your Server can enable Announcements, but recurring schedules are configured manually.
Weekly schedule
**Nexus Commons — This Week**
Tuesday: New Player Coaching
Thursday: Flex Night
Saturday: Ranked 5s
Sunday: Scrim / Clash Practice
Use #group-listings for teammates now.
Use #community-events for scheduled activities.
Ranked 5s reminder
Do not permanently write Riot’s current queue window into the announcement.
Use:
Ranked 5s is open this weekend.
Check the current Riot/client queue window for your region, then use
#ranked-5s to form a five-player team.
Patch reminder
Riot currently schedules League patches roughly every two weeks, with the official 2026 schedule published by Riot Support.
Your Social Feed can post patch notes automatically; Announcements should be reserved for community-specific implications.
Step 9: Use the Dedicated League of Legends Social Feed
YourBot already has League of Legends in its curated game catalog.
The current catalog entry uses:
- source type:
riot_lol - fixed Riot source
- category: MOBA
The underlying source follows Riot’s official League patch-notes area.
The inspected implementation:
- reads Riot’s patch-note index,
- finds game-update patch-note links,
- enriches the newest items with Riot’s own structured article metadata,
- extracts the patch designer’s intro,
- defaults to a 1,800-second polling interval.
Recommended setup
- Source: League of Legends
- Destination:
#patch-notes - Optional ping:
@Patch Notes
Important limitation
This source is designed for League patch notes.
It is not a complete feed for:
- every LoL Esports article,
- every Worlds update,
- every dev blog,
- every skin trailer,
- every merch announcement.
Use manual staff posts or an additional approved source for esports-heavy communities.
Step 10: Use Analytics for Community Health, Not Ranked Skill
YourBot Analytics measures Discord activity.
It can help answer:
- Are new members finding LFG?
- Which regions are active?
- Is ARAM more active than Ranked?
- Are coaching events retaining players?
- Which position channels or threads are useful?
- Does voice activity increase during Ranked 5s?
- Are watch parties driving engagement?
Exclude:
- staff channels,
- report channels,
- ticket logs,
- automated patch feeds,
- private team review.
Analytics does not know
- LP,
- hidden MMR,
- rank,
- win rate,
- KDA,
- CS/min,
- vision score,
- champion mastery,
- Clash tier,
- Ranked 5s rank.
Do not promote someone to @Coach because they are active in Discord.
Step 11: Giveaways and Tournament Prizes Need Clear Rules
YourBot Giveaways can support community activities such as:
- watch-party prizes,
- community merchandise,
- sponsor-provided hardware,
- tournament prizes that your organizers can legitimately fulfill.
Do not imply YourBot can automatically grant:
- Riot Points,
- skins,
- Ranked rewards,
- Clash rewards,
- account progression.
Publish:
- eligibility,
- region restrictions,
- prize,
- entry method,
- closing time,
- winner selection,
- claim process.
For organized tournaments, review Riot’s current tournament/community competition rules before selling entry or promising game-related rewards.
Ranked 5s Deserves a Dedicated Discord Workflow in 2026
Ranked 5s is one of the most Discord-relevant League changes of 2026.
Riot’s May developer article explains that the returning queue differs from the old locked-team model:
- any premade group of five friends can queue,
- the group does not need to remain the same every session,
- ranks can vary widely,
- matchmaking attempts to account for disparities,
- the queue uses set weekend windows,
- Tournament Draft is used.
The September 8 update says the second run starts in Patch 26.18 and includes strategic opponent information before draft plus a longer queue window.
Recommended Discord structure
🏆 RANKED 5s
├── #ranked-5s-info
├── #ranked-5s-lfg
├── #ranked-5s-events
└── #ranked-5s-review
Or use one Forum with posts per group.
Each post should show:
- region,
- start time,
- open positions,
- self-reported ranks,
- communication expectations,
- competitive/casual intent.
Because Ranked 5s is experimental, do not redesign the entire server around it.
If Riot changes or retires the queue, the broader League community structure should still work.
Clash: Use Discord for the Team, Riot for the Tournament
Clash is a natural fit for Discord because it requires more coordination than a spontaneous queue.
Use Discord for:
- recruitment,
- position planning,
- substitute planning,
- practice,
- draft discussion,
- availability,
- review.
Use Riot’s client for:
- actual Clash registration,
- team eligibility,
- tournament timing,
- locking in,
- current Clash rules.
Do not copy an old Clash schedule into a permanent Discord post.
Keep #clash current or build one team post per active cup.
Team Voice Is Coming, But Discord Still Has a Job
Riot’s March 2026 Team Voice article said full-team voice would be tested carefully rather than rushed.
The September update now provides a concrete rollout starting in NA and Oceania in Patch 26.20.
That is important—but it does not make Discord voice obsolete.
Discord remains the persistent team space before and after the match.
If Team Voice becomes broadly available, you may reduce mandatory Discord voice for pickup groups while keeping Discord for:
- team practices,
- Clash,
- Ranked 5s,
- coaching,
- scrims,
- community events.
Build the server so either approach works.
League Classic and Rotating Modes Should Stay Flexible
League Classic is active in 2026 and Riot is updating it through community feedback and content drops.
ARAM: Mayhem is also active.
Arena and other modes may return or change.
Do not create permanent categories for every experimental mode.
Use:
- an interest role,
- a Forum tag,
- a temporary thread,
- a Group Finder template.
If a mode remains popular for months, then consider promoting it to a permanent channel.
Wild Rift Support: Add It Deliberately or Not at All
A League-branded Discord often attracts Wild Rift players.
If Nexus Commons decides to support Wild Rift, add:
📱 WILD RIFT
├── #wild-rift-chat
├── #wild-rift-lfg
└── #wild-rift-updates
And add @Wild Rift.
Do not reuse League PC rank, queue, role, or patch assumptions.
Riot explicitly says Wild Rift was rebuilt as its own game, with separate inventory and gameplay systems.
A Complete First-Week Workflow
Day 1: New member
A member joins.
They:
- verify,
- choose
@NA, - choose
@Jungleand@Fill, - choose
@Flexand@Ranked 5s, - opt into
@Event Alerts.
They immediately know where to find teammates.
Day 2: Duo partner
They create:
Title: NA Solo/Duo
Party Size: 2
Rank: self-reported Platinum
Position: Jungle
Looking for: Mid / Support
Voice: optional
The listing expires after the session.
Day 3: Coaching
A Coach creates:
Title: Jungle Pathing Review
Signup:
- Learning
- Teaching
- Observer
Beacon handles the schedule.
Day 4: Ranked 5s
Five members organize:
Top
Jungle
Mid
Bot
Support
They use a temporary voice room and the current Riot queue window.
Day 5: Patch notes
The dedicated League feed posts Patch 26.18 information in #patch-notes.
Staff create a discussion thread instead of turning the feed itself into chat.
Day 6: Clash practice
A team uses Beacon for practice and a private team thread for draft notes.
Day 7: Review
Staff review:
- LFG usage,
- coaching demand,
- Ranked 5s activity,
- voice usage,
- Ticket backlog,
- Sentinel cases,
- new-member retention,
- dead channels.
Discord participation is not used as a League skill score.
Optional Plugin Builder Project: Team Draft & Champion Pool Board
The AI Plugin Builder becomes useful when a League community wants persistent competitive-team preparation beyond normal events and LFG.
A Team Draft & Champion Pool Board is a strong fit for Ranked 5s, Clash, and scrim teams.
Copy-ready Plugin Builder prompt
Create a League of Legends Team Draft & Champion Pool Board plugin for YourBot.
This plugin manages Discord-side team planning only.
Administrators configure:
- Team Captain role
- Coach role
- private team category or review channel
- optional public team-directory channel
Each team stores:
- team name
- Riot region
- captain
- optional coach
- team status: Recruiting, Active, Paused, Archived
- preferred queue: Flex, Ranked 5s, Clash, Scrims, Custom
- public description
Each Discord-side roster member stores:
- Discord member
- preferred positions: Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot, Support, Fill
- primary position
- secondary position
- self-entered champion pool
- optional private notes
- availability
Captains and coaches can create a draft-prep record containing:
- event / opponent label
- planned date
- side preference if relevant
- target bans
- priority picks
- flex picks
- composition themes
- map / patch version note
- private scouting notes
- post-game review notes
Add commands:
- /team-create
- /team-list
- /team-view
- /team-join-request
- /champion-pool
- /draft-plan
- /draft-review
Add a dashboard for captains and coaches.
Members can edit only their own champion pool and availability.
Captains can manage their team.
Coaches can view and edit team strategy.
Server administrators can manage all teams.
Do not ask for Riot passwords, session tokens, or authentication credentials.
Do not log into Riot accounts.
Do not claim to read live rank, LP, hidden MMR, champion mastery, match history,
Clash eligibility, or Ranked 5s rank unless a future approved Riot API
integration is added.
Do not automatically register or remove players from Clash or Riot queues.
Label all champion pools and ranks as member-entered unless an external
verified source is explicitly configured later.
Store all records per Discord server and include an audit log for staff changes.
How it complements the built-ins
Use:
- Team Draft Board for persistent team planning
- Beacon for scheduled practices
- Group Finder for last-minute players
- Tickets for applications
- Join-to-Create Voice for sessions
- Announcements for schedules
- Analytics for Discord participation
The plugin fills a League-specific competitive planning gap instead of duplicating YourBot.
A Future Riot API Integration Should Be Separate
Riot provides developer APIs, but a League Discord plugin should not casually promise live rank or match data.
A future integration needs to evaluate:
- current Riot Developer Portal policy,
- approved product requirements,
- rate limits,
- regional routing,
- Riot ID handling,
- data retention,
- API-key security,
- user privacy.
Version 1 of the Draft Board needs no Riot API.
That keeps it useful even if Riot changes endpoints or policies.
Common Setup Mistakes
Confusing positions with champion classes
Top/Jungle/Mid/Bot/Support are team positions. Assassin/Fighter/Mage/Marksman/Support/Tank are champion classes.
Creating one channel per champion
The roster changes and the channel list becomes unmanageable.
Treating rank roles as verified when they are self-selected
Label them.
Using a five-player template for ARAM and forcing positions
ARAM does not need Summoner’s Rift role slots.
Hard-coding Ranked 5s weekend hours
Riot already changed the window between runs.
Treating Ranked 5s as a permanent guaranteed queue
Riot describes it as an experiment.
Treating Team Voice as globally live
The expanded rollout begins with NA/Oceania in Patch 26.20, after this guide’s publication date.
Mixing Wild Rift into League PC LFG
It is a separate game.
Using Discord Analytics as a skill rating
It is not.
Assuming the patch-note feed includes esports
It follows Riot’s League patch-note area.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is League of Legends 5v5?
Summoner’s Rift is 5v5. ARAM is also 5v5.
Rotating and experimental modes can use different formats.
What roles should a League Discord use?
For finding Summoner’s Rift teams, use Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot, Support, and Fill.
Champion classes are a separate concept.
What is Ranked 5s in 2026?
Riot’s returning Ranked 5s queue uses premade groups of five on Summoner’s Rift with individual ranks, broader rank mixing, scheduled weekend windows, and Tournament Draft.
A second 2026 run begins with Patch 26.18 and is planned through December.
Is Ranked 5s permanent?
Riot describes it as an experiment and says it may evolve. Do not design the entire Discord around its permanent availability.
Does League have team voice?
League already has premade-party voice. Riot plans to expand voice to the full team starting with NA and Oceania in Patch 26.20, then expand based on results and moderation readiness.
Is Wild Rift the same game?
No. Wild Rift is a separate Riot game with its own gameplay, matchmaking, progression, and inventory.
Does YourBot Group Finder automatically detect League of Legends?

Does YourBot have a League patch-note feed?
Yes. The current Social Feeds catalog has a League of Legends entry using a dedicated Riot source.
How often does it check?
The inspected source defaults to a 1,800-second polling interval.
Does that feed include all LoL Esports news?
No. It is designed around League patch notes.
Can YourBot verify rank or LP?
Not through the built-in services described here.
Use a separately reviewed Riot API integration if your community genuinely needs live game data.
Do I need a custom plugin?
No. Start with the ten built-in services. Add the Draft & Champion Pool Board only if persistent team strategy is a real need.
Final Verdict
League of Legends is a strong fit for a structured Discord because its social problem is bigger than one queue.
A healthy community may simultaneously support:
- new players,
- Solo/Duo partners,
- Flex groups,
- Ranked 5s,
- ARAM,
- Clash,
- scrims,
- coaching,
- esports watch parties.
The permanent Discord should be built around those community workflows—not this patch’s strongest champions.
Use Start Your Server to create:
- region-aware onboarding,
- position roles,
- queue interests,
- LFG,
- team recruitment,
- coaching,
- events,
- esports discussion,
- private staff areas.
Then give each YourBot service one responsibility:
- Welcome for onboarding
- Sentinel for Discord safety
- Tickets for team applications, coaching, and reports
- Beacon for Ranked 5s, Clash, scrims, coaching, and watch parties
- Group Finder for teammates forming up now
- Join-to-Create Voice for temporary teams
- Announcements for community schedules
- Social Feeds for Riot patch notes
- Analytics for Discord community health
- Giveaways for optional community events
Use the Plugin Builder for persistent competitive planning such as a Team Draft & Champion Pool Board—not for recreating systems Riot already owns.
And keep the boundaries clear: Discord can organize the team, but Riot remains the source of truth for queues, ranks, Clash, matchmaking, and in-game behavior.
