Every rule is a trigger, a set of conditions and a list of actions. It fires on a message, a join or a nickname change, runs only in the channels you pick and skips the roles you exempt.
21 conditions
Ten look at what a message says: words and phrases, spam rate, mentions, caps, duplicates, emoji, stickers, line breaks, attachment floods and file types. Eleven look at who posted and where a link goes: links and invites, known phishing domains, freshly registered domains, links in names, the name filter, no avatar, staff look-alikes, account age, roles, risk score and risk band.
13 actions
A rule can delete the message, alert a channel, DM the member or rename a bad nickname, and warn, time out, kick, ban or quarantine them. In voice it can mute, deafen, disconnect or move them. Actions run in the order you list them.
Escalation with a memory
Any action can wait until a member already has a set number of warnings, so a first slip gets a warning and a repeat gets a timeout. Repeat timeouts can grow each time, and a cooldown on each rule stops one burst from stacking punishments.
Try it before it bites
When a raid hits
Sentinel counts joins over a rolling minute. Past 10 a minute it moves the server into Hard raid mode by itself and stands down after 30 minutes, and both numbers are yours to change.

When a staff account turns on you
Anti-nuke watches for a compromised or rogue account doing damage fast. By default it alerts and pings your mod roles. Opt in and it strips the account's roles, quarantines, kicks or bans it, then undoes what it did.

Each watch has its own count and window, such as 3 channel deletions in 10 seconds, plus an optional slow limit for an account that keeps going under the fast one.
What gets put back
- Dangerous permissionsA role that gains Administrator, Manage Server, Ban or a similar permission goes back to what it had, and a member handed such a role loses it again.
- The bansWith a punishing response, up to 200 accounts the attacker banned are unbanned again, with a note saying why.
- The name and vanity linkBoth go back after a takeover attempt.
- Channels and rolesWith restore on, deleted channels and roles come back from an hourly snapshot. Discord cannot restore messages, so they come back empty.
Moderator roles are not exempt on purpose: a hijacked moderator account is the case anti-nuke exists for. The owner and the accounts you exempt are never touched.
Every action leaves a case
Automatic or by command, every warning, timeout, kick, ban and quarantine gets a numbered case with the reason, who acted and the evidence. Bans, kicks and timeouts done in Discord itself are recorded too.

Members appeal with /appeal. Someone you banned can no longer run a command, so their ban DM links to a web appeal page where they sign in with Discord and see only their own cases. Approving an appeal reverses the action and DMs your note.
Reports from members
/report, a right-click on a message or a reaction with an emoji you choose. Reports land in an inbox sorted by risk, with Warn, Timeout, Kick and Ban buttons on each row.
A risk score with reasons
Every member carries a 0 to 100 score from their history that fades with time: full weight for 30 days, half to 90, a quarter to a year. Crossing one of five bands can add them to the watchlist, ping your mods or, if you opt in, quarantine them.
Bans that travel
Share bans between the servers you own, or join a ban network with servers run by other people. Each server picks how it responds.
Logs that say who did it
Server changes post to their own channels in seven categories. Every entry shows before and after, when it happened and who did it, taken from Discord's audit log.

Setup does the groundwork, then leaves the starter rules in log-only mode while you watch what they would do.

What is the best moderation bot for Discord?

Does Sentinel stop raids?
Yes. It counts joins in a rolling one-minute window and, past the rate you set, switches into raid mode by itself: slowmode on every channel and new joins quarantined, kicked or banned as you choose. A full lockdown that raises Discord's verification level and closes every channel is one command away, and Sentinel restores your original slowmode and permissions when it stands down.
Will it stop a hijacked admin account?
Anti-nuke alerts within seconds on mass deletions, bans, kicks and dangerous permission changes, and puts dangerous permissions, the server name and the vanity link back. Opt in to a punishing response and it also unbans everyone the account banned and strips its roles or quarantines, kicks or bans it. Panic mode can lock the server so only the owner and your exempt admins can moderate until it lifts.
Can I test a moderation rule before it goes live?
Yes, two ways. The rule editor has a tester that takes a sample message and tells you whether the rule would fire, and any rule (or every rule at once) can run in dry run so hits are recorded without punishing anyone.
How do I block invite links in Discord?
Add a link filter condition to a Sentinel rule, or install the Invite Control template, which ships that rule pre-built. To stop people joining through invites at all, /lockdown invites pauses every invite for up to a day. Raid mode itself applies slowmode, controls what happens to new joins and can close channels.
Can I see why a member was warned or banned?
Yes. Every action creates a numbered case with the reason, the moderator or rule behind it and a full per-member history. When automod fires on a message, the case shows what matched and stores the 11 messages around the trigger as evidence.
Can a banned member appeal a ban?
Yes. Kick and ban DMs carry a link to a public appeal page for your server, so someone who is no longer in it can still sign in with Discord and appeal. Approving the appeal schedules the unban or untimeout automatically and DMs the member.
How do members report someone?
With the /report command, by right-clicking a message and choosing Report Message, which attaches the exact message, or by reacting with a report emoji you choose. Reports arrive in an inbox sorted by risk.
Does Sentinel read images?
No. It can block file types, floods of attachments and members with no avatar, but it does not look inside an image.
