Discord bots for gaming communities

A gaming Discord has jobs an ordinary community server does not: finding four more for a dungeon at 11pm, a raid signup sheet that survives contact with reality, a voice room per party and moderation that holds up when a raid hits. YourBot covers those as plugins on one bot, and every plugin ships disabled, so you run only what you use.

Finding people to play with

Group Finder replaces the #lfg channel where posts scroll away. A player runs /group create, picks a template and the listing posts as a live embed with a roster: named role slots, a dropdown to claim one and a filled/cap count per slot. When the party fills, the waitlist promotes the next person the moment somebody drops. Ready Check gives the leader a live tally, and a listing with a start time DMs everyone signed up about fifteen minutes out. The setup wizard reads your channel and role names to recognise WoW, FFXIV, Guild Wars 2, ESO, Destiny, Path of Exile, Diablo, Lost Ark and Throne and Liberty, then builds the channels and forum tags to match, with role-slot starter templates for the first three. Raid nights and recurring events

Beacon Events handles the scheduled side. An event repeats daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly, and the next occurrence spawns itself when the last one finishes. Signups are buttons, not reactions, with ten role types (Tank, Healer, DPS, Flex, Support, Ranged, Melee, Mage, Scout and Leader), per-role caps and RSVPs for tentative, late, benched or absent members. Ten templates ship with every server, including WoW Mythic Raid at 20 and FFXIV Alliance Raid at 24. Reminders go to a channel or a DM, and every attendance lands on a per-member record with streaks and no-shows.

A voice room per party

Join-to-Create Voice needs one lobby channel: joining it creates a personal room, and the room deletes itself when the last person leaves. Whoever made it runs it: the plugin grants them Manage Channel, Move, Mute and Deafen on it, so capping the room or dragging someone out uses Discord's own controls. See temporary voice channels.

Keeping a large gaming server civil

Sentinel is a rules engine, not a fixed filter: 15 condition types, 9 actions and 3 triggers, matched with ANY or ALL logic. Raid protection counts joins in a rolling one-minute window and, past your threshold of 10 by default, switches the server into raid mode by itself: slowmode everywhere, new arrivals quarantined, kicked or banned as you chose in advance. Knowing whether the community is healthy

Analytics turns activity you already generate into 13 dashboard pages. Weekly join cohorts with D1, D7 and D30 retention answer whether the people who joined during your last event stayed, and a 7x24 heatmap in your server's timezone says when to schedule the next one. Voice gets real depth: session-length percentiles, peak concurrent users and screen-share time as its own metric. Leaderboards rank on 12 metrics and Role Rewards hands out a Discord role once a member crosses a threshold you set. There is no XP bar, and message content is never stored. Giveaways and game news

Giveaways gates entry on account age, time in the server, roles held and messages sent. Every draw gets a public spectator page that streams entries live. Social & Patches carries the news: 98 one-click subscriptions covering Steam patch notes for 65 games plus League of Legends, Valorant, Fortnite, Minecraft and the FFXIV Lodestone, filtered by keyword so a patch-notes channel gets hotfixes and never datamines.
