Statbot alternative: YourBot vs Statbot

Statbot calls itself the Discord server stats bot, and on the numbers it is a specialist with few equals. Invite it and it starts counting the moment it joins, with no setup: messages and voice per member and per channel, hourly, plus online status, member count, joins and leaves and invite usage down to the invite code, all on a responsive dashboard that every server gets automatically. It is built and hosted by Statbot itself on its own hardware and its own Discord library, and around the core sit two tools its docs treat as products in their own right: Statdocks, voice channels renamed with live counters from more than a dozen counter types, and Statroles, roles added and removed automatically from stats, with AND/OR groups, weighted comparisons, permanent roles and cron schedules on its paid tier. It also keeps everything. By its own docs Statbot never deletes data, and the History upgrade opens all of it.

The structural fact that shapes this page is what sits behind that free core. Statbot sells five upgrades per server, one at a time or in bundles, and its docs list what each unlocks: History for anything older than 30 days and for syncing messages from before the invite; Data+ for game and streaming activity, heatmaps, role filters and inverted conditions; Drilldowns for CSV exports, unlimited top tables, the filter bar and three deeper dashboard pages; Statroles+ for more than four Statroles with the advanced conditions and schedules; Statdocks+ for the stat and social-media counters and the six-minute refresh. Its read-only API needs all five at once.

YourBot's Analytics is one of ten core services that run free on every server with no feature paywall, next to Sentinel moderation, Tickets, Beacon Events, Group Finder, Join-to-Create Voice, Welcome, Announcements, Giveaways and Social Feeds. Everything the rest of this page describes on the YourBot side, the 16 dashboard pages, counter channels, Role Rewards, presence pages, CSV exports, the public dashboard and the API, is included on the shared bot. Premium, billed per server, adds a bot under your own name, the open marketplace of plugins from independent developers and the Plugin Builder.

The short version

• Pick Statbot if you want stats and nothing else. It is also the pick for history that is never trimmed, who-is-online charts without switching anything on and a follower counter for a YouTube, Instagram or TikTok account in your channel list. YourBot has none of those.
• Pick YourBot if you want the analytics, counters and activity roles free in the same bot that moderates the server, runs the tickets and posts the events, with cohort retention, churn risk, alerts and a public dashboard on top.
• Both bots can share a server, so the safe move is to run them side by side for a month and keep whichever one you open.

How the two are built

Statbot is a first-party statistics bot. Its docs describe one bot, one dashboard, two tools and a read-only API, and nothing on its pages describes moderation, welcome messages, tickets, events, giveaways, temporary voice channels, custom commands, an XP system, a way to run it under your own name or a way for outside developers to add to it. That is not a gap in the product so much as its scope: it is a stats bot and says so.

YourBot is one bot whose features are plugins. Analytics is one of the ten built in, and the marketplace is where independent developers publish the rest, each running sandboxed with no network access and reviewed before it ships. So the honest comparison is Statbot against one YourBot service, with the other nine and the marketplace as the reason to prefer the bundle.

What each one tracks

Statbot counts messages and voice per member and per channel at hourly resolution. It tracks online, idle, do-not-disturb and offline status, member count and joins and leaves, and it follows invite usage per invite code with eleven fake-invite reasons and custom invite labels, all free from the moment it joins. Voice sessions carry their state (AFK, muted, deafened), forum posts count toward the parent channel and bots are filtered out by default. Members who have since left show up as their own series. Game, streaming and Spotify activity is tracked too, switched off by default and unlocked by Data+. Reactions, threads and screen share are not documented as tracked.

Analytics listens to 13 Discord event types. Messages are counted with their channel, author and timestamp and never their content. Voice sessions open and close with a real duration and are spread across hour buckets, and screen share and camera time is its own metric. Joins, leaves, role grants, reactions and thread creation land on the same timeline. Presence is opt in per server: turn it on and Analytics samples who is online, idle, busy or offline through the day and what members play, stream and listen to, on the Status and Activity pages. Invites are attributed to inviters with still-here counts and four fake-invite reasons. You decide what counts: exclude bots (on by default), exclude channels or roles, whitelist roles, blacklist members, filter voice states, group channels into aggregates and set the timezone.

History and how far back you can look

This is the clearest split. Statbot never deletes data, but its docs say free servers can only view the last 30 days, with a two-week default lookback. The History upgrade opens everything older, and its Message History Sync, which pulls messages from before the bot was invited, needs History plus a sync credit. Stats other than messages, its docs say, are in most cases irrecoverable from before the invite.

Analytics keeps whatever retention window you set, from 7 to 365 days, and setup starts a background import of up to 365 days of your existing message history so the charts mean something the first time you open them, free. Beyond a year Statbot keeps more; inside it YourBot shows more without paying.

Dashboards

Statbot's free dashboard has Overview, Messages, Voice, Status and Invites, each with a chart, pie charts and capped top-member and top-channel tables. Activity, the 7x24 heatmaps and role filters come with Data+, and Analytics, Member Drilldown, Channel Drilldown, CSV export, unlimited tables and the interactive filter bar with saved presets come with Drilldowns. Every logged-in member can pin personal panels, and filters live in the URL so a view can be shared. Aggregate channels merge stats from channels or whole categories, which is how temporary voice rooms stay countable.

Analytics has 16 pages grouped as Pulse, Activity, People and Ops: Overview, Retention, Heatmap, Messages, Voice, Channels, Members, Status, Activity, Leaderboard, Role Rewards, Alerts, Counters, Annotations, Settings and Setup. Retention runs weekly join cohorts with D1, D7 and D30 percentages next to a churn-risk list of members who were active last week and have gone quiet. Channels ranks momentum and flags dead channels after 14 days of silence. Voice goes to session-length percentiles, a histogram and week-over-week returning members. The heatmap is a 7x24 grid in your timezone; click a cell to see which channels and members drove it. Every data page exports to CSV, and the Annotations page puts markers on the charts for the events, giveaways and announcements that explain a spike. None of it is gated.

Counter channels

Statbot's Statdocks are voice channels renamed with live numbers, up to four counters per channel: members, members with a status, members in a role, roles, channels, voice, date and time and countdowns for free, updated every ten minutes on a minute offset. Statdocks+ adds stat counters (count, average, change, top), invite counts and YouTube, Instagram and TikTok follower counts, plus a six-minute refresh with no offset. Discord itself limits any bot to two renames per channel every ten minutes, which both bots live with.

Analytics counter channels put the same kind of live numbers in your channel list: members, members with a status, members in a role, members in voice, channels, roles, a clock, a countdown and three stat counters (a count, a change and the top member or channel), up to four per channel, renamed every six minutes, free. There are no social-media follower counters.

Roles from activity

Statroles add and remove Discord roles on a schedule from conditions. The free tier is four Statroles with message and voice thresholds updated every three hours, set up only on the dashboard. Statroles+ removes the limit and adds AND/OR groups, activity, invite, joined-age, account-age and weighted compare conditions, top-rank and day-range limits, permanent roles, notifications through Hooks.gg and cron schedules down to ten minutes; inverted conditions, which is how you build an inactivity role, need Data+ as well.

Role Rewards does the same job without the tiers. Pick a role, one of 15 metrics (messages, voice hours, screen share, reactions, threads, days active, streaks, unique channels, days in server, account age and members invited), a minimum and an optional maximum over a rolling window, then combine conditions with all-or-any matching, invert one for an inactivity role, cap it to a top rank or percentage, require a day range, ignore certain members, choose whether the role is revoked when someone drops below the bar and whether they get a DM. Each reward re-checks on its own schedule from every ten minutes to once a day and recomputes from stored data, so a reward you add today applies to history already collected.

Commands and cards

Statbot has 18 slash commands and a text prefix. /me, /user, /server, /stats, /top and /channel give numbers; /chart draws seven chart types including status and activity; /counter, /filter, /diag, /settings and the rest handle management, with Refresh, Chart and Lookback buttons on replies and a private-reply setting per user. Custom lookbacks on commands and the longer /top lists need an upgrade.

YourBot has seven: /stats, /leaderboard, /me, /user, /server and /top render image cards, and /chart draws messages, voice, members, a channel or a member over a window. The stats and leaderboard cards are yours to design in the Card Designer, five colours and a background image each, and any member can opt out of appearing on a card.

Sharing, access and the API

Statbot's dashboard is admin-only by default and can open to members or to the public, with member-level data never shown to anyone outside the server, role-based permissions with per-member overrides and an audit log of every settings change. Its API is read-only, versioned 0.0.1 and described by its own developer terms as experimental, with one bearer key per server and more than twenty endpoints for series, tops, sums, counts and resources, and it is available only to servers holding all five upgrades.

Analytics can be opened to members, to a role or to the public at a share link, and the public pages carry no member IDs. Up to five API keys per server, shown once and stored hashed, unlock five read endpoints (series, tops, sums, counts and resources) at 60 requests a minute, included with the service.

Privacy

Statbot stores usernames encrypted and says it does not sell data. Any member can anonymise themselves permanently with one command, and the server keeps its aggregate totals when they do. Analytics stores counts, IDs, timestamps and cached display names, never message content, and members can opt out of the stats cards. Neither dashboard shows a member's data to strangers.

Hosting and plans

Statbot is hosted by Statbot on its own hardware, under its own name and avatar, and no self-hosted, bring-your-own-token or custom-branded option is documented. Upgrades are bought per server by any member, split across people if you like, in bundles or one at a time.

YourBot's shared bot runs all ten services free with no feature paywall. Premium, billed per server, runs a custom bot under your own application, name, avatar and presence on a private node, hosted and restarted for you, and adds the marketplace, the Plugin Builder, 50 lifetime Start Your Server credits and premium support.

Switching

Invite YourBot next to Statbot, enable Analytics and run its setup. The import fills up to a year of message history while Statbot keeps counting, so after a month you can open both dashboards and compare the numbers on the same days. Add counter channels and Role Rewards last, once you trust the data, and leave Statbot in place if you want its unbounded history or a follower counter. Nothing forces the choice.
